It's been a whole month since the display of our prowess on that hunting quest. Seems like it caused some stir among the group. Some kept their distance from us (I'm looking at you Sara), while others like to have us in (the rest).

Aside from that, the occasional 'too easy' happened once or twice die to Ru's arrogance for his power.

"Furn. Wake up we have a quest!" Ru's voice draws me off my dream of a slow life. "We're late!"

I groaned pushing Ru away. "Go do it yourself."

"Just because your the more powerful one doesn't mean you can laze around!"

"If you did it, I can." I retort. "Besides Kurama will stay with you in case of an emergency."

Giving a sigh, Ru leaves the room closing the door with a hard slam.

[Changing Pov!]

That brother of mine. I swear when I get his head with my cold hands—

"Ah!" Holding my head, I feel a terrible headache. And I know it all too well. "Fucking Hitogami."

Fighting the urge to scream in pain, I enter the guild and see everyone already there.

"Oh, Rudeus here for another quest with us?" Suzanne warmly smiled at me.

I like that smile... Reminds me of mom.

"Yep! Just a heads up, my brother won't be joining up today."

"Really?" Suzanne eyebrow rose. "That's unusual."

"Meh. You'd be surprised just how lazy he is." I chuckled. "Anyway, what's on the agenda today?"

"Well we have a quest to gather some scale in the Galgau ruins." Suzanne explains.

"I see." I reply.

[Timeskip to the ruins]

"So what are these ruins exactly?" I asked the group.

"It's a fortress built from the first Human-Demon war. It was originally from the demons but it was overtaken by us." Timothy answered.

That's impressive to say the least. So does that mean that the demons once ruled this continent? I have ask master about this whenever I meet her again.

"Oi are you going to admire the stone or walk with us?" Sara yelled me out of my thoughts.

"Sorry. I got lost in thought." I admitted.

"Right." Sara walked forward slowly looking away.

Seeing a quick future of her falling down I quickly get a hold of her albeit a bit prevy.

"S-sorry I didn't mean to! I just saw you trip to your death!" I quickly let go bowing repeatedly.

Sara didn't say anything.

'I hope that doesn't cause any problems in the future.'

"Gather up people!" Suzanne waves at everyone to come at the seemingly safe place.

Running my way there, Suzanne picks up a scale off the ground demonstrating what we need to do.

"Just be warned we're on their territory so be on the look out."

"What's the plan if they show up?" I asked.

Suzanne merely grinned giving me the reason that I'm the one first line of defense.

I sigh. "Fine I'll protect you guys."

That sounds corny yet right to say...
