The next morning, Lucy walked down the sidewalk outside her building on her way to pick up breakfast before heading into the clubhouse for the day. Even though she had her own flat, her own bed, she somehow still managed to fall asleep on her new couch. She'd woken up, covered in blankets, sunlight starting to stream in through the windows of her living room. Her living room.

She'd showered the second she woke up, just deciding to wear the clothes that weren't packed up in boxes she had to unpack when she got home from work... which meant she was once again wearing the jacket Jamie had given her.

Lucy glanced down at her phone, opening her calendar to check the events of the day when a car rolled up to a stop next to her. She was so focused on reading the plans, she didn't even notice it.

"Hey!" A familiar voice called from the car. "Nice jacket!"

Lucy finally looked up from her phone, almost dropping it on the sidewalk when she saw Jamie getting out of the car to talk to her. "Oh my god, what're you— where—" She blinked, trying to process the fact that Jamie Tartt, the man she was starting to believe was just her phone screen, was standing right in front of her. "Hi!"

"Glad to see you're settling in." He grinned a bit before glancing at the buildings around them. "You live around here?"

"Yeah, actually. I'm over there." She pointed back in the direction of the building she shared with Ted before looking back at him, still in shock that he was actually standing in front of her. "What're you doing here? Shouldn't you be with Manchester right now?"

Jamie nodded with a small smile, "We played West Ham yesterday, so I was in town."

"And you decided to stay?"

Jamie ran a hand through his hair, opening his mouth to speak (though he wasn't sure what he was going to say), but the sound of Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds stopped him. He almost laughed. Of course that was her ringtone.

"Shit, hold on a second." She glanced down at her phone before switching the ringer off. "Oh, it's Keeley. I'm just gonna take this real quick, it could be about work or something."

Before he had a chance to say anything, possibly give her a warning of what the call was truly going to be about, Lucy had already answered the call, putting the phone to her ear. All he could do was stand there, awkwardly. He didn't do awkward. But he was now.

"I did something really fucking stupid, like, insanely fucking stupid." Keeley said immediately, her words coming out hurried like she was already in the middle of a speech. "If they gave out awards for being stupid, I'd have them all, that's how stupid I am."
