Jeff's*pov*

As I floated in the water I was still rubbing my head it hurt but I was still scared of humans as the human sat in the shallows of a tide pool*

Roman:* signs and watches where the creature swam off to* okay amberlynn I guess we should let him go back home before we get the poor thing caught

Jeff:* flicks my tail and tries swimming off the only issue was that my tail was caught in some old fishing line and lures* oh come on

Roman:* sets amberlynn in a carseat and dives into the water after him only to see some of his family watching him struggle so I dug out my knife and started cutting the fishing line off his tail so he could slip out and swim's to the surface*

Jeff:* flicks my tail and grabs his belt I could see that he wasn't a very good swimmer even my brother helped me get him to the shore*

Roman: go before you's are caught* coughs and spits out water*

Jeff: and what about you can we trust you to keep our secret

Roman: yes although I would like it if I got to know you and people more maybe I might be able to help some of your issues go away

Jeff: I doubt that but thanks anyway* swim's off with my family and signs*

Roman:* as I sat with amberlynn I started noticing that I was starting to get used to being nicer since rylala's death and I wasn't the best swimmer and I still dove in to help him and he helped me back up to the surface he could have drowned me if he wanted to I thought to myself as I picked up amberlynn and walked back to the house with her*

Jeff:* as I swam home with my brother and mother and father I was thinking about that human I had to admit that he was actually kinda cute and I didn't even know him very well but he let me live*

Gilbert: Jeff son what's on your mind* watches him swimming behind us*

Jeff:* looks at dad and cringes* I'm just worried is all he looked like he couldn't even swim and his little girl is just so small I wonder what happened to her mother

Gilbert: now my boy it's none of our business as to what's going on in his life we don't mingle with humans and for the record I don't want you near him or his daughter ever again do you understand me boy

Jeff:* looks down upset and signs* yes father

After six months had gone by I went to the surface again around his house as his feet were dangling in the water and runs my scales along the bottoms of his feet until he kicked me in the gut* ouch

Roman:* looks down and cringes* shit my bad

Jeff:* pokes my head up* boy your lucky I can take a beating* smiles at amberlynn when she crawled over* well hello there cutie pie

Roman: I don't know what to do anymore I'm hopeless as a parent especially when she's been drinking milk with tuna blended her mother

Jeff:* thinks about it and chuckles* that is because it stimulates a mermaids milk our females and that gives our young the nutrients they need to grow but how would she be one of our kind

Roman: someone merlady by the name of abrealla said that amberlynn would be safer here with me then in her home world

Jeff: our queen abrealla came to you um uh okay let me get this straight your raising the princess of our home world

Roman: I guess so but I wasn't expecting to actually go through with it until I started getting attached to her she's to sweet of an angel*

Jeff: yeah she is* looks down and signs until Roman pulled me up onto the deck like dock and sat me down* uh what was that for

Roman: saves both of our necks from hurting later on* I still had a neck brace on from my neck injury*

Jeff: mind me asking what is that around your neck?

Roman: it's a neck brace it's to help keep my neck straight as it heals I broke a neck bone but I'll be alright* I had to admit even turning my neck right now hurt after last week*

Jeff: oh* looks down at the water* um w why did you cut the fishing line off of me infront of my family I was just curious

Roman: because I grew a heart even though I couldn't swim I still wanted you to be able to get away from other humans who might not be as friendly and safe to be around and I'll get back in the water again to do the same thing for amberlynn if it was her in that position so why not help one of her people who will one day need her guidance just like you's need her mother

Jeff:* noddes* I guess for a human your not so bad after all* listens to footsteps behind us and see's rakishi and goes to dive into the water until he threw a net on me * oh come on

Rakishi: there you are my little sushi stealing fish from hell your not going anywhere

Roman: uncle rakishi let him go your not hurting him* is trying to untie the net until uncle Umaga shot me with a spear and threw amberlynn into the water I wasn't moving*

Jeff:* grabs his knife and starts cutting the rope until matt swam up* matt get out of here take them please he needs the help now* after getting the rope cut I slipped out and swam under the deck and off towards where matt took the father and daughter duo so I swam off to find them*

Matt:* after swimming off with the human and the little girl I was trying to get him on some rocks and signs getting the little girl occupied with my hair clips as I tried to get his bleeding to slow down until my father showed up*

Gilbert: I told you boy's not to return to the surface world

Matt: dad help him please he saved Jeff's life if it wasn't for him my brother wouldn't be alive and free right now

Jeff:* swim's up and pulls myself onto the rocks beside Roman* dad please I'm begging you to help him and his daughter
