Jamie POV

It was my turn to drive now, I wasn't hungry so I let the others eat while I drove, Sunny tried to put some food in my mouth but I refused politely. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Ray eyeing me suspiciously.

Me: What? Is there something on my face?

Ray: No... Are you okay though? You are not acting like yourself.

Me: But I don't normally eat, you know that...

He placed a hand on his chin and thought about it. I looked forward and continued driving.

Ray: I know.... But you should at least eat something. At least a small pancake. You know I got you some.

Me: Sometimes I get tired of telling you to worry about yourself. You need it, you can't just keep worrying about me.

I watched his face pale slightly.

Ray: I wouldn't worry about you if you wouldn't need it.

Me: But you worry. That worries me.

Ray: You are confusing me.

Me: I confuse myself too, but I care about you Ray...

Ray: Pffff-

Me: Ugh, sometimes I don't even know why I'm friends with you.

Ray: How about I saved your ass a couple of times.

Me: I did too. Don't discredit me.

A chuckle, I stifled my laughter and cleared my throat.

Klaus: Are you two ok?

Violet: They're both stubborn, it's almost comical...

Klaus: Yeah... like if they admit to how much they care about each other, it'll kill them.

Ray: We are fine individually.

Me: Yeah...

I smiled slightly and took a deep breath.

Klaus: But?

Me: What do you mean but?

Violet: He means there's something you're not telling us.

Ray: About us?

Klaus: Precisely.

Ray: Let's just say we are not like we used to be.

Me: Kind of... a breach of trust... but we're kind of trying to fix it... or at least I'm trying to.

Ray: Are you?

Me: Yeah... but I don't know how to... You know I'm not good at emotions.

Ray: I know but how about accepting them for once and try to empathize with others too. By the way kids, how about you help Jamie out?

Me: Raymond, there's the problem, darling. I don't know how to, I've missed some of my sessions with my therapist.

Ray: ... that's not the point. Now stop the car by the next train station.

Me: Why?

Ray: I need a church.

Me: And how is it going to help?

Ray: I am about to sin and need some enlightenment.... So either you drive to the next stop and I go there or you drive to the church and leave me alone. Your choice but by my holy father, I will sin.

Me: How far is the church?

Voilet: There is a shield saying it is about 3 km away.

Me: Alright, let's go.

I turned the car onto the road and drove in the direction.

Me: Wait- are you even allowed into a church anymore? Not trying to joke or anything, it's a legitimate question...

Raymond: Just fucking get me to a church Jamie James!

Me: Fucking hell, sorry.

I sped up and drove urgently, A few minutes later I parked outside the church and let him out.

Me: umm, enjoy...

He nodded silently and left, I melted back into my seat.

Klaus: Is he ok?

Me: Just a build up of emotions, it happens, he used to have anger problems as a teen. So his adoptive parents sent him to a camp. When he came back, he was so calm and that's when he started to be the way he is.

Violet: Oh wow, I don't think I can imagine an angry Ray...

Klaus: Do you miss that Ray? Considering you grew up with him.

Me: I don't know to be honest... That Ray was a pain in the proverbial ass. I mean... we were on good terms but after he came back, he was doting... we knew a lot about each other before but after he came back, I could barely get anything out of him. At this point, he knows more about me than I do him...

Violet: Is that a problem?

Me: I guess, it's caused a rift between us, it's like living with a stranger now...

Klaus: Again, it's like you two are a couple, going through a spat...

Violet: Mom are you and dad getting a divorce.

I looked back at them, the mocking looks on their faces pointed at me.

Me: What did you just call me?

Klaus: She called you, mom.

Me: I am not your mom!

Sunny giggled and babbled.

Violet: Sunny says your anger is funny.

Me: I am not angry..

Klaus: It's a child throwing a tantrum... mom.

Me: Will you stop! And don't call me mom!

Violet and Klaus smirked and looked out the window, Ray was there, looking calm once more. But the confused look on his face. I got up and grabbed his arm.

Me: Raymond, tell them to stop calling me mom~

Klaus: See she even had to tell dad.

I covered my face and groaned.

Violet: Look, her ears are all red.

Ray: She is quite good to get red.

Me: Not you too!
