WARNING: THERE IS DEATH IN THIS BOOK; PEOPLE DIE, AND PARTS ARE A LITTLE GORY.

In the heart of the woods, bathed in the moonlight, two women, Sarah and Emily, wandered through the dense forest. Their footsteps rustled the undergrowth as they explored the depth of the woods, oblivious to the lurking danger behind them.

The Windigo, a creature born of darkness, peered at them from the shadows. Its icy breath whispered through the trees as it observed the unsuspecting women, its glowing blue eyes fixated on their every move and drool dripping from his teeth.

As Sarah and Emily navigated the winding path, they looked around and pointed things out to each other, unhindered by the darkness.

Suddenly, a cold gust of wind sent shivers down their spines, an alarming sign of the approaching terror. Sarah paused mid-step, sensing a disturbance in the air around them.

A hushed silence settled over the woods as the Windigo closed the distance in a predatory stride. Its hunger-filled eyes focused on its chosen target, Sarah. Panic surged through her veins as she turned to find the fearsome Creature lunging with unearthly speed.

With a bloodcurdling screech, the Windigo's elongated claws tore through the air, finding their mark in Sarah's chest and piercing her body. With an agonized scream, she looked at her friend, who looked in shock.

She felt blood drip down her chin as she screamed for her friend to go

The sound echoed through the forest, and then Windigo's attack consumed her, its vicious claws ending her life as he grabbed her heart and pulled it out of her chest.

Emily was in shock, and fear consumed her; she had just witnessed the horrifying scene unfold before her eyes. As Sarah's life was extinguished in a matter of seconds

Adrenaline coursed through her veins, urging her to run from the nightmarish Creature eating her friend's heart.

Without hesitation, Emily turned and sprinted through the woods, desperately seeking an escape. Still, as she ran, she heard the Windigo pursuing her, its chilling presence causing her heartbeat to speed up and her legs to run faster.

Branches clawed at her clothes and face, causing her to stumble, but she fought through the pain, driven by the need to live.

In desperation, Emily managed to outrun the Windigo. She kept running, though, and kept going until she came to a cabin; a plume of smoke traveled up from the chimney.

With a final burst of adrenaline, Emily raced toward the cabin, her plea for help echoing through the silent clearing. The door creaked open, revealing a kind-looking older man, his presence starkly contrasting the nightmarish chaos that, unknowing to her, was still tracking her in the woods.

The older man took in the disheveled, grief-stricken woman with compassion and understanding, shielding her from the horrors that lurked behind her. He offered her safety, bringing her inside and giving her some food; she told him of the Windigo and how it had killed her friend.
