Author's POV

Two days later

(night time)

"Aunty we have to talk to Pragati before it gets too late" Khanak tried to convince Anita getting up from the bed but she got pushed back on the bed by Anita who gave her stern face which made her gulp down in fear.

"I have talked to Pragati and I will talk to her again today, so you don't need to worry about her. You worry about yourself first and if you even try to get up from the bed, I will break your legs, do you understand that?" Anita spoke in firm tone while glaring at her from which she understood that there was no use of saying anything to her right now as she was not going to listen to her.

She really wanted to talk to Pragati and to help her get out of her abusive marriage but before she could talk to her all this happened, she knew that no one could explain her better than Anita because she too was once a victim of domestic violence.

"NO........." A high pitch sweet voice resounded in the room which made them startled and turned their heads in the direction of the sound to find little Trisha was standing there, holding her favourite teddy bear against to her chest and shooting cute glares at Anita.

She looked adorable with her red scrunching nose which made Khanak's lips curled up in genuine smile.

She really loved this little girl who made her colourless world colourful with her naughtiness.

Little Trisha rushed to Khanak who had a rare smile on her smile, she got on the bed throwing her teddy bear on the bed as she hugged Khanak hiding her face in her chest wrapping her little hands around her head in protective manner while glaring at Anita who was dumbfounded as to why she was glaring at her like that, had she done something to make the little girl angry with her.

Anita gasped.

"Trisha baby what happened?? Why are you glaring at me like that? Did bua Dadi (grandma) do something our little doll didn't like???" Anita tried to touch her hair but she moved back her head, flaring her red button nose in anger which was making her even more adorable.

She nodded her head tightening her little arms around Khanak's head when she tried to pull back her head to look at her.

"don't worry, Trisha will protect you Khani Bui (aunt)" she cooed her like she was a small kid patting her head lightly.

Khanak smiled heartily at her gesture that how much that little girl loved her selflessly and her eyes filled with unshed tears remembering her daughter who if she was alive, she would have loved her the same way but life was so cruel, just as it gave us everything, it took away everything from us in a single moment like everything was taken away from her.

Her family

Her friend

Her carefree life

Her smile

Her love

Her husband

And then, her innocent daughter who was a ray of light in her dark life but she was too snatched away from her cruelly.

"From whom will you protect your Khani Bui (Paternal Aunt)" Anita asked her to which she pointed her little finger towards her and said "From you, you want to break my Khani Bui's legs, I heard with my own ears" she touched her ear with the same hand still glaring at her.

"What" Anita got shocked hearing her reason for a moment and the next moment she broke into fit of laughter, hearing which Trisha pouted angrily and said in her sweet serious tone taking Khanak's face in her tiny hands "From now on I am your bodyguard, I will not let anyone even touch you."
