"Congratulations, I knew you could do anything in life!" Mr. Han smiled with satisfaction as he embraced Jia, his daughter."Thank you, Dad!" Jia smiled.
"This calls for a celebration! My daughter has got such a high package on her own!" Mr. Han smiled happily.
"Sure, it's on me!" Jia said before she walked to her room.
She dropped herself on the bed, devouring the flavour of peace and happiness.
In the era of unemployment, she got a job as a secretary at Kim's & Sons, which was a known organisation.
Though she thought she might not get the deal, considering her interview, she got a confirmation call and email this morning.
She ran inside the closet and looked through the formal clothes she had.
"Looks like I need to go shopping for real!" she said checking her clothes.
"Jia, where are you? Your dad is already in the car!" Jia's mom shouted and she chuckled seeing his excitement before changing into something decent and walking out.
"Dad, I understand your excitement but I haven't gotten paid yet, this restaurant looks fancy!" she whispered to her dad as they entered inside the restaurant.
"Don't worry, you can pay me later." he smiled and asked her to sit down.
Jia and her mom started discussing what they should eat while her dad was staring at a picture on his phone. It was of Aria, Jia's elder sister who was dead now.
"I miss you." he mumbled caressing her picture. Jia noticed that and beckoned her mom to look at him.
"Dad, I was thinking that now that I have started earning, I will not spend your money, how about you take me and Mom both shopping for the last time? That would be fun right?" Jia asked and her Mom eagerly nodded.
"My bank manager won't like that!" her Dad chuckled and Jia scoffed.
"You are so mean, you realize that? You won't even let me take over your company until I get some experience!" Jia crossed her arms.
True, Mr. Han owned a known advertising company but he didn't spoil his kids. He wanted them to be humble and hardworking. If Jia ever wanted to buy something, she had to work for it or earn it from her Dad.
Even after being a rich dad's daughter, she didn't get a good allowance, she had to work part-time and her dad believed she would learn something beneficial every time, she would know the value of money, which she did now.
Her parents always preached simplicity and now Jia didn't
feel weirded out among her friend circle who pulled up their expensive things every time they went out.Jia had to get admission to a business University in London on her own to get a car from her Dad while her friends had to just ask for it.
"That's because I don't want an inexperienced girl to destroy the business I put years of hard work into!" her dad chuckled and she smiled, she distracted him."And about the gifts, how about you buy some food and go to an orphanage, sit down with those kids, teach them something, feed them and gift them something? Their prayers will keep you happy!" her dad suggested.
Instead of teaching his kids to take things, Mr. Han focused on making them learn how to give.
When they were kids, he would forcibly take them to such organizations and make them realize that they were privileged but not god and that if they were rich, they had to take care of the weaker section of the society and now it had become a habit of Jia to go to all the charitable institutions her father owned and spend time with the kids there.
