Author's Pov

The busy streets of the city were bustling with the usual hustle and bustle. Grace's mind was occupied with her last interaction with Ashton Knight. The kiss to be precise. She couldn't get it out of her system the whole night. She tossed and turned after leaving abruptly from Ashton's place, realizing the position she had put her self into. There was obviously am awkward tension between them. Why was she even doing all of this? She was supposed to concentrate on the latest project she was working on.

As she stepped into the sleek, modern office building, she was greeted by the friendly faces of her colleagues. Today was going to be more uncomfortable she thought as it was the day she had to work from Ashton's office. And there was no way he would not let the day pass without paying her a visit. Grace made her way to her office, ready to immerse herself in the day's tasks. However, as soon as she sat down, her phone pinged with a new message notification. It was Ashton.

**Ashton:** Grace, could you come to my office, please? There's something I'd like to discuss.

Grace was curious but also a bit apprehensive. Nevertheless, she got up and made her way to his office. The door was slightly ajar, and she knocked gently before stepping in.

"You wanted to see me, Ashton?" She asked, not meeting his eyes

Ashton looked up from his desk, a warm smile spreading across his handsome face. He could see she was trying not to make eye contact. But that would only be temporary, he smirked.

"Yes, Grace. Please, have a seat," he pointed at the chair across his desk.

Grace took a chair, waiting for him to speak. Her heart fluttered slightly, wondering what this impromptu meeting was about.

"Grace about our current project, we need to visit Italy for a short trip to expand our business influence there. You would obviously have to accompany me since you are leading it. We could also bring our team." Just great! She thought. She didn't need all of this. Especially not a trip. Why couldn't they just work from here?

"Italy? That sounds amazing, Mr.Knight. But don't we need to stay focused on the project here?" She tried reasoning.

"It's Ashton for you. Plus I understand your concern, Grace, and I appreciate your dedication. But I have a feeling that a change of scenery will do wonders for our creativity. Plus, we can use this opportunity to attend a conference and meet with potential clients. It's a business trip, after all."His explanation sounded convincing, and Grace couldn't help but feel tempted. However, her practical nature made her question the validity of the idea.

"It sounds incredible, Mr.Knigt, but isn't it a bit sudden? We need to make arrangements and notify the team."

"I've already talked to the team, and they're on board with the idea. As for the arrangements, I've got everything covered. It's only for a few days, and I promise it will be worth it."

Ashton's charm was hard to resist, and Grace found herself drawn to the prospect of visiting Italy. She knew it was a great opportunity to learn and grow. Plus she always wanted to visit that place. With a hesitant smile, she agreed to the trip. Sighing, she nodded her head knowing there was no other option as Ashton Knight was one persistent man.

She dropped her gaze on the bandaged hand, seeing it still had a long way to recover. It brought back the real reason of why he was actually absent the other day from work so early and why she actually went up to his place. Sadly she could never question him because the position got too awkward when Ashton's housemaid interrupted their heated session and Grace thought of nothing else but to jump down from the counter and dash to the house exit with her bag. Going to his place was a wrong idea, she thought, but she could make use of the current opportunity she had.
