ONCE IN THE REALM

The next morning, the soft sunlight filtered through the curtains, gently waking Genevieve from her slumber.

As her mind cleared, the events of yesterday came into focus - the comforting presence of Vincent's spirit, the discussions with Lady Susan, and the mix of emotions she had experienced.

Sitting up, Genevieve felt a blend of emotions wash over her.

The room seemed a bit brighter, and there was a subtle sense of relief that hadn't been there before.

The echo of Vincent's whispered words lingered in her mind, offering an unexpected comfort.

After freshening up, Genevieve found herself in the kitchen.

The aroma of coffee filled the air, and Lady Susan was at the stove, busy cooking.

She looked up with a warm smile.

"Morning, dear. How did you sleep?" Lady Susan asked as she flipped a pancake.

Genevieve returned the smile, a hint of gratitude in her eyes. "Surprisingly well. It's been a while."

Lady Susan nodded, a knowing glint in her gaze. "Those unexpected moments can bring unexpected peace sometimes."

Genevieve couldn't help but agree. "Vincent... he was there with me last night. I could feel him, and hear his voice."

Lady Susan's smile grew.

Genevieve took a bite of her breakfast, contemplating. "I still miss him so much. Not having him here is hard."

Lady Susan's hand rested gently on Genevieve's shoulder. "He might not be here in the way you're used to, but he's not entirely gone. His love is still very much a part of you."

Over breakfast, the conversation remained simple.

After breakfast, Genevieve and Lady Susan knew it was time to see Vincent.

They went to the hospital, hoping to catch a glimpse of him. When they arrived at the ICU waiting area, Elizabeth and Henry were already there.

Sitting in the waiting room felt like an eternity.

Time moved so slowly, and the worry in Genevieve's chest grew with each passing minute. She exchanged concerned looks with Lady Susan - both felt helpless.

Finally, a nurse came out from the ICU. Elizabeth and Henry stood up, their eyes fixed on the nurse. The nurse looked serious, adding to the tense atmosphere.

"Vincent is stable now," the nurse said, her words bringing relief. "We've balanced his oxygen levels, and unfortunately he remains unconscious. But, don't worry, we are watching him closely."

A wave of relief washed over Genevieve. She reached for Lady Susan's hand and squeezed it. Vincent was fine - that's all that mattered.

As Elizabeth and Henry nodded their thanks to the nurse, Genevieve's gaze went outside.
