Henry arrived just as the weather turned back to fair and in time to see his sister off. Henri came striding in and held out his arms.

"For a second brother I feared you would not make it." she commented as Henri kissed his sisters cheeks.

"And have you curse me to hell, no brother wishes such a fate" he bowed his head to his sister which Charles thought odd. He was the Daphain and future queen bowing before his younger sister. Amèlie rested a hand against her brothers cheek.

"Promise me you will behave yourself. It would displease me if you ruin my home before you have a chance to run it. And for heavens sake do not treat Catherine so poor, I like her."

"For you dear sister I would give you the world."

"I doubt that but nice try." she gave him a coy smile then bid her goodbye to her father. Then she left to her new life in England.

Henry announced to his court and to the world that he would take a new Queen, and not just anyone a Catholic princess from one of his rival countries. The contract was signed and there was no turning back especially not with France handing over their most beloved daughter. One who from behind the scenes took a power reserved for that of her father and on occasion her step mother.

When they arrived back on English soil, Charles rode ahead to tell the King, while Amèlie was at least another day or so out. Though Charles sung her praises Henry was impatient and rode out to het her at Rochester Abbey where she was staying before her last part of her journey. Though a impromptu the visit, Amèlie knew the mind of a King, that and her father had told her all about him. impatience was a trait she knew she always had to be ready for. Which is why she was not surprised when Henry came before he was supposed to meet her.

As Henry entered she did not turn around at first till he stopped and then slowly she faced him. The first thing she noticed was her arbourn hair long and flowing like her mothers hand been when he last met her in Calais. Then that she had ocean blue eyes and a air of authority about her. Amèlie gave a deep curtsy to the King.

"Madame." he greeted and she rose back up "You are an awaited sight."

"You believed my portrait to be untrue?" she questioned back "I feel that says more about you than I your majesty." he gave a rough snort of a small.

"Very brazen for a Princess."

"Something you knew before your proposal. As warned you may at times regret it but at least you know I do not cater to your every whim, truth and honesty is a rare comodity amongst those of royal blood." She smirked "No one not even you can say that this was a marriage that you did not enter with absolute truth to whom you were marrying."

"Quite." he lifted her hands and kissed them "I am here to welcome you to my realm. I trust that you are comfortable here before your journey to London."

"Yes, my every need is being taken care of. i thank you for that." she inclined her

"Good, then I will see you anon." he bowed to her and she curtsied back then he took his leave with a smile.

Henry upon meeting Amèlie was reported to have said that he agreed with the sentiment that she was a jewel of France. He was happy that she lived up to the reports and portraits that had been given to him before. Though she was young she was every bit a Queen already.

Amèlie was presented to the court in a French blue gown and her head held high befitting the daughter of a King. She was taught that even though she would be put through her paces to show weakness would be her biggest downfall. For once you showed that, the snakes around her would see it and take a chance to ruin her. She came to a stop and Henry who was with his daughters Mary and Elizabeth, stepped down to greet her and gave her a chaste kiss.

"My lady I am here to welcome you to what is yours."

"Your majesty is most gracious and I am most happy." she gave a small smile. One of a Queen's true virtue was to read the room around her. She had many thoughts but she knew that those she would say away from everyone. Kings were very prideful and though you could guide them you had to be smart about it. Its how she was with her father and that's how she would be with her husband. Charles started clapping and the rest of the court joined in though Thomas Cromwell did so reluctantly, the last thing he wanted for a stunted reformed country was a Catholic Queen. Henry took her hand and moved to stand beside her.

"My daughters the Princess Mary." Mary stepped down greeting her future step mother and curtsied

"Madame."

"Your Highness." She smiled to the her and Mary stepped aside

"The Princess Elizabeth." Elizabeth came over to her holding flowers and curtsied

"For you. I think they are pretty."

"Why thank you Princess. But i don't think they compare to you." she gave the little Princess a wink which made Elizabeth smile even more. She then turned to Henry "I love them both."

Amèlie waited at the alter of Greenwich Palace chapel. Henry arrived and she curtsied to him before taking his hand and make their way to be married. That evening the two played cards before bed. In her mind she had to repeat that it was for King and Country that her first time and her first husband was old enough to be her father. The bravado that she had till this point dropped rapidly at the fact that she was now wife to a older man. Amèlie glanced at those watching them play one of them was Charles and he caught the young queen's eye. He perceived her glance to be one seeking reassurance and he gave her a small and curt nod.

"Shall we to bed my wife?" Henry asked regaining her attention and she nodded. Henry stood up and dismissed everyone. They left and Amèlie took a deep breath raising from her seat and heading to the bed. Henry came round to her side and that night the two consummated the marriage
