The four of them get back home and Avery decides to just spend the night. She lived next door and her best friend Ariana was at a premier anyway.
"Do you guys seriously not have any more fanta??"
"Bruh you fucking drank it all." Chris says, slightly pushing her and rolling his eyes.
Nick and Chris head to the living room and hang with Trevor (their dog). It was just Matt and Avery in the kitchen. Matt takes a deep breath, "Avery? I'd like to talk to you for a second."
"Um okay? About what?" She questions.
"Uhhh...well I have something I wanted to talk to you about..." The pressure is building up and Matt's heart is racing.
Avery looks at him curiously, "Okaaay...what??"
"I-"
"GUYSSS!!! GET IN HERE WE NEED YOUR HELP TO PICK A MOVIE!!" Nick shouts from the living room. Avery raises her eyebrows and walks over to the living room.
Matt watches as she walks over to the living room. Well fuck.
"What about a scary movie?" Avery suggests.
Nick's eyes widened. "Nah Nick gets too scared," Chris says, "How about a romcom?"
"Chris, that's the worst idea I've ever heard." Nick says, "I say a fantasy movie."
"Umm how about Sci-Fi? Like star wars or something."
The three of them agree to Matt's suggestion and they turn on a Star Wars movie.
Matt kept taking glances at Avery during the movie. Avery also kept taking glances at Matt. At one point, they glanced at the same time and made eye contact for a few moments. Avery felt butterflies in her stomach but chose to ignore them.
Once the movie is over, Nick asks if they all want to go get McDonalds or go on a walk.
"Let's go on a walk!" Avery suggests.
"It's like fucking 3am we're gonna get kidnapped." Chris states, getting up off the couch.
"Why not do both?" Matt offers, "We could just walk to McDonalds."
"That's actually a good idea," Nicks says, "And if we get kidnapped, we'll just sacrifice Chris!"
"Hey!"
With that settled, the four of them head out of the house. Avery and Matt walking right next to each other as they head towards the McDonalds.
