A/N:A Prologue AND a chapter on the same day?!?! LET'S FUCKING GO!!
Jacobstown, doc Henry's infirmary
Arcade look down at the unconscious form of his friend as Marcus laid him gently on the hospital gurney. Arcade can't help but to think back to all the times he lost someone, first his father, then his mother and now it's quite possible that the one real friend he has in the world might die. Arcade shakes his head at that thought. Six had survived things that would've killed most people, he had seen the courier just shrug it off like it was nothing.
Doc Henry walks up from behind and puts a comforting hand on Arcade's shoulder. Arcade looks to the old doctor expecting the worst news.
Henry:"You need to relax Arcade, your friend is tougher than most as we know. The boy survived two shots to the head at point blank, he just needs rest is all."
Arcade:"I know, it's just.....bad memories are popping up. This reminds me of when we all stayed in Vault city before the Ncr took it over. And then when they strung up that family....."
Doc Henry nods with a sad look on his face, few things stayed with him after the Enclave fell on the West Coast, but the he and the others had seen horrific acts of violence and murder by the Ncr. Most of who survived after Navarro were either imprisoned or killed, and at the time the Ncr had little care whether or not that included children. Sometimes the old doctor would think about all the people they saw being dragged away, kicking and screaming, while others were gunned down.
Henry:"I know....those were dark days Arcade, but I promise you, your friend will be alright Marcus has seen to it that one of the bungalows are for you to use, try to get some rest and don't stress yourself out."
Arcade nods as he looks back towards Six as Calamity tries to make Six comfortable. Arcade can see the courier's face be scrunched up and slightly shake from side to side. Arcade moves in, only for Calamity to stop him.
Calamity:"He's just dreaming, whatever it is I think it best to leave him be Mr.Gannon."
Arcade takes one more look at Six before walking out of the infirmary. Six begins groaning and moving his head from side to side.
Suddenly the courier's eyes open wide, but somethings wrong, Six takes in his surroundings and immediately realizes that he's not in the bunker, or in the Jacobstown infirmary.
Six:"What the hell is this.....wait is this some kid's bedroom?" He asks, sitting up from the bed to get a better look of the room.
Six:"That's strange...this room feels familiar, but I don't remember ever being here."
Six looks around and his assumption of it being a kid's room was spot on, on the floor were wooden toy soldiers, toy cars a few stuffed animals. On the walls were various posters for Nuka-Cola and other brands. On a little desk in the corner however.
Six:"Huh....weird I had a toy vertibird just like this.....wait how did I remember that?" He asks himself.
The courier then looks to the window and can see the faint flow of Neon lights, he walks over and spots a very familiar casino.
Six:"Hey I know that place, that's in Reno...hmm this is starting to get weird."
Six backs away from the window and sits back on the bed contemplating his situation.
Six:"Ok...that legionnaire must've got me good and......I'm unconscious? Have to be I don't think this is the afterlife, certainly not the picture that David and Joshua painted. But why am I in a kid's room in Reno of all places?"
