CASTLE ON THE CLOVE

I once walked among birch
And black water,
Down trails long worn out
Until I couldn't be found.
I've taken axes to gates
And laid enemies down on the shields
That littered the ground-
How could I fault another
For I too kill
For whatever hand offered me the gold.

It's spent chasing ghosts,
Fishing for wisdom from the Oracles
But the old gods speak in code.
One day I'll be a sky dweller
My last hope - the valkryies
See merit in this ragged soul.

A cloud of mryhh envelopes me
Standing at this crossroad
Wondering which way I should go,
Waiting long into the night
Looking at the skies
For those things I'm keen to know

My next move will cement my destiny
And I'll find myself
Relaxing at a castle on the cove.
