𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐞𝐝 in Zae's head. Attacked. Clarke and the three others had been attacked. But by what?

"Attacked?" a voice suddenly repeated.

Well, look who's decided to join, Zae sarcastically thought. It's obvious he had a thing for Clarke. What a peacekeeper. Wells had joined them.

"By what?" he continued, giving Clarke a concerned look.

"Not what", Finn replied, correcting Wells. "Who. Turns out, when the last man from the ground died on the Ark; he wasn't the last grounder."

Again, Zae wrinkled her eyebrows. People on Earth.

"It's true", Clarke confirmed with a worried tone in her voice. "Everything we thought we knew about the Ground is wrong. There are people here. Survivors."

People in the crowd began to murmur about what Clarke and Finn just told them. Zae stayed quiet as always, continuing to listen to the blonde.

"The good news is: that means we can survive. Radiation won't kill us."

Something flashed in Finn's eyes. Something dark.

"The bad news is the grounders will."

"Where's the kid with the goggles?" Wells suddenly asked, pointing out that one of them was gone. Zae figured it out before Clarke explained it. By the simple fact of goggles, Zae assumed that it was the boy who'd sat next to that other kid whom she still didn't know the name of in the dropship. He must have come with them on their little hike to Mount Weather and the people Clarke were talking about - the grounders - must have taken or killed him. However Goggle-boy wasn't there.

"Jasper was hit", Clarke confirmed again. Damn, looking at her clearly, Zae understood why Wells liked her, she's probably tap that too. "They took him."

Before she could go on about something more, she noticed something on Wells. She grabbed his wrist, holding it up.

"Where's your wristband?"

At first Wells glanced at Zae, making her realize that he also saw her witnessing Bellamy and his goons pry off his wristband. Maybe even a little mad that she didn't step in to help. If he actually blames her in some way, he can go fuck himseld. Ending the quick glance, he nodded to Bellamy.

"Ask him."

The anger seemed to wash over Clarke immediately. Damn, she's hot when angry.

"How many?" she asked Bellamy. But before he could reply, Murphy replied for him:

"Twenty-four and counting."

Zae sighed.

"You idiots", Clarke breathed, staring at them. "Life support on the Ark is failing. That's why they brought us down here! They need to know the Ground is survivable again and we need their help against who-ever is out there! If you take off your wristbands you're not just killing them! You're killing us."
