Joseph sat next to his father. His father had gone into a coma apparently.
According to the doctor, he was injected with sleeping poison. So, until he woke up? Joseph had to be king for a while. And while trying to find Damon as well.
"Dad," Joseph started, "I know you can't hear me but I'll be the best king you'll ever want. And be proud of me and Damon as well. Please." He said and stood up. Reluctantly grabbing the crown his father wore.
"Okay," Joseph muttered to himself, his hands on the door knobs. "You got this Joseph. Just act like the king and man your father raised you to be." He muttered and opened the doors.
Everyone in the hallway stopped what they were doing and stood straight.
Joseph walked down the hall and opened the doors leading to the throne room.
Everyone in the meeting also stopped to look at Joseph.
Joseph sat on the throne and stared at everyone.
"What's happening?" Joseph asked. He sat straight on the throne and stared at everyone.
William walked forward with red, dry eyes.
"What's happening with my brother?"
Joseph slouched at that, "He's in a coma. The doctor isn't sure when he'll wake."
William also slouched and nodded, "Thank you, um, we can't find any mountains that lead to the moon. Also some guards are questioning whether Damon will be found and if you're the right heir we have to take the throne. With everything happening with our family." William explained.
Joseph narrowed his eyes, "Which guards? Uncle."
William pointed to the nervous guards standing by the door.
"They think I didn't hear them. But I've been listening to all their conversations." William hissed.
Joseph held up his hand to signal everyone to be quiet.
"So, what makes you think you can insult my family after everything?" He asked, harshly.
The guards simply stuttered, "We didn't mean it to be an insult to your family, your highness. Just that shouldn't you be with your father at the moment of his weakness?"
Joseph stood up, "Well then, let me make this very clear. I will not stand by and watch my father suffer when he wants me on this throne and to find Damon. So, William, take their honour of being guards. I want them to stay back." Joseph growled out.
William nodded, "Of course, your highness."
"Uncle you can call me Joseph you know?" He smiled at his uncle.
William smiled back, "Okay, Joseph. You sound just like your father."
Joseph smiled back and watched as the guards who left shamefully.
"Okay. Now what's going on with Damon?" Joseph asked.
"Well," William started, "There's no maps that point to any mountains that lead to the moonlight. And there's no trace of Damon or anything." William explained.
Joseph nodded, "How many mountains are not on any map?"
William glanced at a piece of paper, "Just around 2."
Joseph nodded, "We're going to those two mountains. And we're going to find Damon. For our father."
William nodded, "For Daniel."
On the tallest mountain, closest to the highest moonlight. Were three witches.
And one particular boy who was sleeping.
