I felt...tired.
My mind was pretty empty otherwise, I only really noticed how exhausted I was. Apparently one of the reasons why I was so out of it, was because I had been given so much that I could've overdosed.
I spent a couple of days in the hospital, being stuck to an IV the whole time. I couldn't even get off the bed without an alarm going off. I was bored and alone and drained.
It's always a strange thing whenever some shit happens to me, it wasn't like traumatic experiences were foreign to me. Actually, I was so used to them that this almost felt normal in a sick way. Sure, this was the first time this specific thing had happened, but...
I guess it just wasn't that hard to adapt. It could've been denial or maybe what happened wasn't nearly as bad as everyone was making it out to seem. If it was so bad, why was I so numb to it?
I wasn't sure why but I had been waiting for the call I was expecting to get. My dad would surely call me, right? The hospital already told him what had happened. Yunho had been furious, he spent the whole morning talking about me pressing charges and it just exhausted me more.
Everything was so hazy from what happened, there were some details that were just missing. One thing that wasn't surprising was that I hadn't heard from Hongjoong, and I honestly never even expected to. He made it clear what he thought of me. I didn't want him to just tell me how what happened was my fault. I didn't need to be reminded.
It wasn't until the third day I spent in the hospital that I finally got a call from my dad. He didn't even say hi, the first thing that was said was, "We're not taking legal action. We don't want this getting out, it could ruin the company and all of the progress we've made with merging. I don't want to see this in the news, do you understand?"
I felt myself smile at the ridiculousness of it. I still felt numb, numb enough that when I hung up without saying a word, I didn't even feel concerned.
I just closed my eyes, ignoring the call.
I woke up from the loud beeping that went off next to me. It went off for a good five minutes before a nurse finally came in, pressing a couple of buttons and then left without saying a word.
Then there was a knock on the door and Hongjoong stood there, his expression looking grim.
Was I still dreaming? What the fuck was he doing here?
He swallowed hard, looking uncomfortable but hesitantly came in. "Are you feeling better? You were pretty out of it on day one."
I didn't know what he meant by that, it's not like he had visited me. I guess Yunho told him what had happened.
"Why? It's not like you care." I said bitterly.
He wasn't phased by the jab, he just continued further into the room, sitting down on the chair by the bed. "Well? Are you feeling better?"
I wondered if he even heard what I had commented but settled on the fact that he did, he just ignored it.
"I feel fine." It wasn't a lie, I did feel fine but that was the extent of all I felt.
