Seonghwa
Wooyoung came in the room I was using with food, a worried expression on his face. "Hyung, you need to eat. You look like shit."
I had been crying non-stop for days, holing myself up in the room. I was trying to come to terms with everything but it was hard.
"It's not as easy to ignore my problems when I can't hate Hongjoong." I mumbled into the pillow.
"You've been ignoring your problems for too long. One of them being...that you need to eat." He placed a plate on the desk and a bottle of water.
"What if I'm too broken to get better? What if Hongjoong does come back and I'm still just as fucked up and he wants nothing to do with me?"
"Stop with these "what ifs", it's not helping you. In fact, it's making things ten times worse. Come on, you're taking a shower and eating. I'm done watching you rot in here." He grabbed my hands and pulled me off of the bed.
From not eating or sleeping properly, I was way too weak to fight him off.
"I just miss him."
"We all miss him, Hwa. That doesn't mean you need to stop living because of it. We're going out together. I'll get everyone together and we'll get some drinks, dress up slutty, and have some actual fun."
I shook my head. "I don't-"
"I don't care." He answered bluntly. "It's better than what you're doing now. You have to listen to me or I'll kick you out."
"You wouldn't!"
He paused, "San can deal with you! Do you want to deal with San, Seonghwa? He's going to be way worse than me!"
He was right. San would rather haul me over his shoulder and drag me there then let me stay like this.
So reluctantly I agreed.
"Good! This is the start of a new Seonghwa! Seonghwa2.0 if you will."
I'd try for him.
Hongjoong
I sat in the meeting after having a pep talk from Nayeon. We both had to make some very difficult decisions.
My dad introduced me to the men sitting around the table and it was my turn to talk.
I stood up, giving them a polite smile as I bowed respectfully. "I'm here because I have an important announcement that I need to make."
My dad raised his eyebrows in surprise, clearly being left out of the loop.
"I am refusing my position as the new CEO. So I'd appreciate if staring today, you look for somebody else to fill in that position. Thank you for meeting with me today."
I gave another bow before I walked out of the room, hearing my dad do damage control and then I heard his footsteps behind me.
"Kim Hongjoong!" He yelled, warning me to stop.
Which I didn't.
More out of fear than anything.
"HONGJOONG!" He yelled again which did make me stop this time.
I reluctantly turned around to look at him. "Yes?"
"What do you think you're doing?! Do you know how embarrassing that was for me?"
"Not nearly as embarrassing as you are being right now." I said, nodding to the people who walked past us.
"Do you even know who those people are? Do you even know how important they are to our business?" He asked.
"I do actually. I also know that none of those people in that room think I deserve the position I am being given. I am not going to become a nepo baby. You have more people more qualified for that position, and more people who want that position." I replied coolly , hiding the fact that my heart was pounding out of my chest.
"Hoongjoong-"
"Goodbye, dad. I'll help you find a replacement and settle the company but I won't be a part of it."
"If you leave, the merge won't happen."
"That's not my problem." I said, then I turned and left.
