BANG! The car door slammed shut as my mom entered the car. " I CAN NOT believe you just did that, young lady!" She screamed. "This is the third support group you have been kicked out of this month!" I acted like I cared, then turned my head and smiled to myself. " look at me when I'm talking to you, may!!" I turned my head farther away from her. " so your going to be like that? Fine! Your grounded for two weeks!"
"Mom!"
"Three weeks!"
"MOM!"
"If you keep complaining, it's going to be a month!"
Well, that got me to shut up.
I was locked in my room for the rest of the night without dinner. Boy, it was awful. I sat in my bed, my stomach
rumbling. But boy was it worth it- my mom said she was tired of me getting kicked from support groups so she wasn't going to sign me up for another one. YAY!
Ok, I have to admit, being grounded isn't fun.... At all. I have been sitting here for three hours now and I am STARVING! Ugh. My mom can be so mean at times. I wish Luke was here.
Were could that poor kid be? I looked outside my window, as if to look for him. After a moment, I silently scolded myself. What did I expect? He has been gone for 3 years. Most likely dead. But, I still held a sliver of hope inside me. I looked outside again, and I saw something I hadn't seen before- a narrow path in the woods behind my house! I wonder what could be at the end of that twisted road?
Suddenly, my curiosity and hope of finding the boy got the best of me. I climbed out my window and ran for the path.
