Hyunjin, may, or may not, have only asked Jisung to kiss him because he realized he had feelings for him.
Surprise!
No, he didn't give a shit about his date and whether or not he could really kiss someone. You think that's something he cared about? He's a loser! And a loser he will die, he was not about to ruin his reputation of having a meaningless love life. The jokes were too funny to give up on suddenly.
No, he just... Something about laying with him that day while he was fevered. It was something about the feeling in his heart, how it coiled around his mind, how it instinctively told him to hold Jisung tight to him and never let him go, it suddenly clicked. Like puzzle pieces, falling into place. He liked Jisung. He may have even loved Jisung. But the point is, he had feelings for him!
And, as soon as Jisung kissed him, that thought was confirmed in his mind.
He was down.
Bad.
Down bad and hard.
Which, you know, should that be a surprise? No! Not even a little bit! It shouldn't be a surprise to anyone, and it definitely wasn't a surprise to Hyunjin when he realized his feelings. Like, seriously. How normal was it to think about your best friend in the way Hyunjin thought about Jisung? Not at all. Not even a little bit. And, let's be honest, Hyunjin always had the vague idea that he was either sick in the head obsessed with Jisung, genuinely appreciated him as a friend and saw him as a companion to keep grasp on for as long as he was able to, or had deeply harboured feelings for him. Romantic feelings for him. And seeing that as soon as Jisung kissed him, his heart telling him that he could've stayed in that moment with him forever, he could've stayed with him forever, then, yeah. Romantic feelings. Those were some romantic feelings.
But... How could he ever act on those feelings? Have you seen Jisung? The man is a living, walking, breathing, marble statue of a Greek god. He was gorgeous on the worse of his days and downright ethereal on his best. He was talented in everything he did, incredibly smart, dedicated on the hard work he put into his passions, funny, a free spirit. More than all of that? Maybe, Hyunjin had a chance with Jisung and he could easily ask him to be more than friends with him, but Jisung didn't feel the same way. Jisung saw him as a friend. He said they were friends, acted like they were friends, believed they were friends, even if Hyunjin knew he had romantic feelings for Jisung, Jisung saw Hyunjin as his friend. A friend. Nothing more. Even if he stood a chance at asking, Jisung wouldn't reciprocate those feelings because he didn't see Hyunjin in the same way.
Plus, Jisung would probably call him gay or homophobic if he tried and would then try to laugh it off as a joke (Where did this habit come from? Jisung is gay! A homosexual! Straight up, fruity cock-tail lover).
Realizing what the truth of his feelings were, Hyunjin then proceeded to not act on them.
First off, he bolted from the room as soon as their whole make out session ended because holy fuck I'm in love with him and he's supposed to be my best friend and what the fuck what the fuck (Not to mention the complicated feelings that arose from the situation. Making out with Jisung, touching him, and then being straddled by him, did things to his mind, okay? Can you blame him? The guy is unbelievably hot! Not the mention Jisung being shorter than him, but undeniably dominating him, he... Yeah, the size difference made him feel some things. Not all of them PG). Second, ELIMINATE CONTACT WITH THE PROBLEM. Was that mature? No. But, Hyunjin was certain if he kept seeing Jisung then he would want to kiss him again, and, UGH! UGH, HE CAN'T DO THAT! THATS NOT OKAY WHEN PEOPLE DONT LIKE YOU BACK!!!
