The day was finally here

Yeah, my shop rent has expired.... we'll it'll expire tomorrow but what the heck

I had already placed a call to the shop owner and she agreed to meet at the shop. After Sophia spoke to Jeff, he literally asked to pay everything while I save for the other rents so that I don't leave myself bankrupted now.

I was here already because I had some early deliveries to make so I was here earlier than the rest of them to make those deliveries and now I was waiting for Jeff and Sophia.... unfortunately, I was able to pled with Eric to give him today as a day off

I heard the bell ring as Sophia and Jeff entered the shop

"Hey" Sophia said

"Finally, I was already scared she'd get here before you guys"

"Sorry I kinda over slept" Jeff said

Sophia sat beside me "when should she get her?"

"She said she'll be here soon. But are you guys sure this is a good idea because I don't know where I'll get this money again next month"

"Courtney, let's get this month settled with first" Jeff said

"Yeah and since your rent has been increased, you'll have to increase the amount you're sewing for" Sophia added

"Alright then" that sounded reasonable

The bell rang again and Miss McColy walked in

"Good afternoon" she said

"Good afternoon" we all greeted

"So....why am I here?"

I got up and walked towards her

"I want to pay my rent" I bluntly tell her

She looked at me surprisingly "seriously?"

I nodded and she sighed

"I'm sorry Courtney but you're too late"

"I'm sorry what?" Sophia spoke up

"I already sold the place" she shrugged

I looked at in bewilderment

"You did what?" Jeff then spoke

"I sold it, I saw someone who wanted it for a lot of money"

"I don't understand, what do you mean you saw someone who wanted it for a lot of money, I'm in possession of the shop currently, why would you sell something that I rented?"

Was she crazy?

"Courtney, you kept paying 1,500 dollars per month and my client paid 60,000 dollars at once"

What?

"Why would someone with so much money want this dump?" Sophia got up

"Excuse you?"

"Oh you heard me, what is wrong with you? Firstly you, without warning, raised the rent by 18,500 and now you sold it out without informing who's in possession?"

"It's my shop, I can as well do as I please" she said to us

"You're a psychopath!" I yelled at her which caused her to move back slightly

"How dare you!? You raised the rent without telling me before hand I'm still willing to pay and now you sold it without telling me? Are you crazy or something!?"

I had lost my patience with this witch

"I will not allow you speak to me....."

"I will speak to you how ever I so damn please because you are nothing but a Middle aged psycho who's obviously not married because of how mentally unstable you are"

She got upset and threw her hand to hit me but was stopped by Sophia

"You'd better watch it hippie" she throws McColy's hand aside

"You're all crazy" she said to us

"No you're the only crazy one here. Lady you need to check yourself, you're deranged"

"Get your sorry yourself and your sorry friends out of my shop!"

"Oh please shut it" Sophia said which caught the lady by surprise

"I'll come get my stuff" and with that I walked past her and out of the shop

~°~

"Courtney please can you open up" I heard Sophia knocking

"Courtney please just open up" the there was Jeffrey

I didn't reply any of them and just kept crying into my pillow, I was feed up.

I didn't have anything else to do so my best option was to cry because they easily explain how you feel without having to say a word

Getting that shop was a miracle, I know how many shop Sophia and I had to leave because either the rent was too high or the shop was as good as a shack that wouldn't publicize my business in a good light

I was lost right now and had no idea on what to do except going back to sewing from home which was basically going back to square one.

After a while they stopped knocking and I just stayed glued to my bed, I was crying anymore but I wasn't okay either.

I didn't how many hours had past and I didn't care, I just wanted to be left alone but that thought immediately disappeared when I heard a particular knock on my door

"Courtney"

I raised my head from my pillow to be sure I heard Eric's voice and I wasn't just losing it

"Courtney it's me, can you please open up"

I was torn between opening up and remaining where I was

"My love c'mon, please open up"

And that totally killed my determination not to open up

I got up and walked to the door and unlocked it

Eric stood on the other side looking worried as hell

"Courtney what happened...why..." He kept pausing, seeming like he didn't know what to say

He placed one hand softly on my cheek and I kind of started sobbing again

"No no no, stop that" he said before pulling me in for a hug

I sobbed quietly because of almost out of energy

"What happened" he asked after pulling away slightly

"Well...first of all she increased my shop rent to a price that the shop isn't even worth and then after getting the money, she said she sold it"

He frowned "she sold it? Why would she sell it? Weren't you still occupying the space?"

"That's the funny thing, I was, but she didn't seem to care, it was like everything she did was just so that I wouldn't have the shop anymore"

He sighed and pinched his nose bridge before looking at me

"Hey we'll get you a new one"

I raised my brows "a new one?"

"Yes a new one, I make some calls and you'll get a new shop, not even around here"

I looked at him with surprise

"Are you serious Eric?"

"Very serious, nothing is worth making my girlfriend cry. If it's a shop you want, then I'll get it"

Could I even argue? Why would I even argue?

I immediately enveloped him in a hug

"I love you so so much, thank you"

He hugs me back "I love you and I'll do anything for you
