Summer holidays this year were exactly like every other year. I was sitting in my room most of the time, and in the afternoon I would sit in the living room reading while my brother was chatting with my mom with a cup of tea in their hands.

The only difference this year was that I had something looking forward to waking up every day, and that was Percy's letters. We wrote to each other every single day, talking about random stuff or how our day was. That little thing gave me comfort in the boring warm days of summer, and I missed him like crazy.

One afternoon, Percy's letter got really late, and I was beginning to worry. The sun was slowly making its way away from the sky for the moon to take its place, and the letter was nowhere to be found. I was reading my book but couldn't concentrate, and my mom noticed how upset I was

Narcissa: Is everything alright Y/n dear?

She asked, looking at me before she drank one sip from her tea

Y/n: Yeah, kind of tired

I said as an excuse to avoid getting asked more questions than I wanted to answer. My mom pretended to believe me before she continued her conversation with Draco. My father was at the ministry working, and we never really saw him except at breakfast for a couple of minutes.

That's when an owl flew to the room and then straight into the plate with a few cookies, making it fall and break to the ground. I looked at Eroll stood up and flew to my shoulder, leaving Percy's letter on my lap. A smile appeared on my face looking at the letter before the small owl flew out of the window. So this is why Percy's letter was late because Eroll probably got lost being the first time coming to my house. Percy usually used Hermes who is his own owl, but maybe a problem came up, and had to send his parents one

Narcissa: From whom is that letter?

She asked me curiously with a small smirk on her face

Y/n: It is from my friend Percy. The guy I introduced to you at the station

I said, and she nodded, before I heard Draco laugh at the word "friend" because he knew that I was lying when I used that particular word. As he also knew that Percy and I were more than friends

Narcissa: Well, that's lovely

She said with a smile before she continued her conversation with Draco about a book she recently read. I picked up my book and headed to my room. I sat on my bed and opened the letter with a smile on my face, recognizing his handwriting. I read the letter excitedly before I sat at my desk and started writing his answer. When I finished I stood up and walked towards Astra who was sitting in her cage I gave her the letter and she looked so done with me, because she went to Percy's house every single day, and she got bored with it

Y/n: I am sorry, but I really miss him, you know

I said, petting her head before she bit gently my hand and flew out of the window. I watched her as she flew deeper and deeper into the sky, and I smiled at her.

The night came really quickly, and I was lying in my bed reading a book and not caring what time it was. There was a storm outside which make me not able to fall asleep, so I decided to read until I was able to. I heard a gentle knock on my door, and they didn't need to open the door to know who it was

Y/n: Come in Draco

I said, and my brother opened the door, and then he looked shyly at the floor

Draco: Can I sleep with you?

He asked, looking at the floor, and I smiled at him. I made space in the bed, gesturing for my little brother to join me because I knew how scared he would get when there was a storm. Since he was little, he was always getting scared by the thunders and always came to sleep with me while I was telling him stories from my little adventures at Hogwarts or reading him a different book every time. I remembered how excited he would get hearing those stories, and he just couldn't wait to come and start his own at the well-known school of magic.

He lay next to me with his head on my chest while my arms were protectively around him into a sisterly hug. I pulled the blanket on him because it was rather cold for a summer night

Draco: You seem happier the past few months

He said sleepy and I smiled

Y/n: Really?

I asked, and he nodded, not looking at me but at the wall in front of him

Draco: Yeah, I may not like Weasleybee's brother, but as long as he makes you happy then I am happy too. But I swear if he breaks your heart, I will break his neck

He said with a serious look on his face, and I laughed at his last sentence. Then there was a silence between us and for a moment I thought he fell asleep until he spoke up again

Draco: Can I ask you something?

He asked and I nodded

Draco: How did you know that you loved the annoying prefect redhead?

He asked, and I completely ignored his comment about Percy and I tried to find the reason behind his question

Y/n: Why do you want to know if you like Daphne's little sister? I am sorry what is her name again um maybe Astoria-

I said laughing, and he hit my arm angrily before giving me a deathstare

Draco: No I don't I was just curious

He said, but I knew he was lying and tried not to push the subject because I know how much he hates talking about his feelings. But, I will just ask again in the morning.

Y/n: Well, love is a rather complicated thing, my dear brother. It comes to you when you are not expecting it, but it is a beautiful thing. At first, I absolutely hated Percy with all my heart because he got on my nerves about literally everything he did and said, but when I got to know him I realized that what I felt wasn't hate after all

I said with a smile on my face, and he nodded. Then he looked towards my bedside table and pointed to one of my books

Y/n: Frankenstein?

I asked, and he nodded before I picked up the book. I opened the first page and I sighed before I started reading at him. Before I was even able to finish the chapter, I heard a small snore leaving my brother's mouth, letting me know that he had slept, and I smiled before falling asleep too
