Words Are Overrated

You bought Kyle a brand new tablet, his old one was wearing a bit thin and getting to it. He was hesitant to take it at first since it wasn't the one you had originally given him, but you opened up the app store and showed Kyle. He took interest and smiled up at you, almost killing you inside at how cute one man can be.

You pointed to an app called "Spoken" and Kyle stared inquizitfully at the information. You downloaded it anyway, explaining that it would help him if he had trouble expressing his needs.

Slowly, both you and Kyle put in words and names that were important to him. Including Madison, Zoe, and the other witches in the coven. He tried to use what Zoe had already taught him with the cards in the app, but the basics like food, bathroom, and water, were already on there.

"How about some games?" You asked, reaching for more child games, aimed to help children learn. Kyle grinned again and downloaded three similar-looking games, but if they were helpful, they were helpful, you decided. He was enamoured by the way everything was, so you just sat by him and watched him learn. It just killed you inside whenever you saw Kyle doing anything.

You felt so bad for him when he first came back, and just let Zoe do her thing. She introduced him to you, and it was like another flick had been switched in his brain. He always wanted to spend time with you and Zoe, and wanted you two to help him learn. She knew him longer than you, so he only let her help him with washing if he had to be. "Sorry for abandoning you like that." She mentioned the other day, Kyle was asleep in the other room.

"It's no worries, Zoe, You know Kyle a lot better than I do, it's probably best you stick by him a lot more." You just smiled, she thought you were jealous but there wasn't a jealous tint in your voice at all, just admiration for sticking by Kyle the whole time even if he was being a little difficult.

The conversation dragged on for a bit until you felt a blanket being put over you a bit clumsily. You were drifting off, as you often did if you remembered a conversation with someone, and Kyle noticed putting his tablet down. You smiled at Kyle, not properly looking up at him. He sat there for a bit as you were in and out of sleep, before he put his arm around your waist, trying to hug you best he could. "I love..you." He simply said.

You looked back up at him. "I love you too Kyle, so much." Both of you just smiled at each other and snuggled into one another, falling asleep in the middle of the day.
