AFTER WALKING AROUND FOR A FEW MINUTES, the group finally found the basketball hoops. August had strolled off for a few minutes as Conrad and Belly prepared for the game.

When she walked back she had a blue cotton candy in one hand and a drink in the other. By the time she was stood by Taylor, the two in front of her had finally started playing.

August wasn't paying attention to who was winning as she looked at the two. She suddenly felt so stupid and so blind for missing it, how had she missed it?

As she stood there watching the two in their own little bubble, not registering the other teens behind them, she felt like an idiot.

For someone who prided herself in being very observant and for noticing the smallest of things about the people around her, for her to not notice something so big about two of the most important people in her life made a weird feeling appear in her head.

Of course she knew how she had missed it, but she didn't know how she didn't pick up on the signs.

She remembered when she finally gained the courage to ask Jayden when exactly it had started. Yes, he had told her that the two used to like each other, but as far as he was concerned that had stopped.
