See You Again

Three years ago Chase confessed his love to Skye.
Three Years since their first kiss.
Three Years since they died in each other's embrace.
Three long years. That's how long it's been since the nuke fell onto Adventure City.

Marshall stood in front of the monument to the fallen heroes.
"Hey buddy," he sighed "It's been awhile. It's still strange without you there. Even though it's been three years we still look to your spot, waiting for your call to action, but it never comes. Rubble is doing better, he was the most affected. He really looked up to you guys, you know. You were like parents to him." The dalmatian paused to sigh again and wipe away some rogue tears that were starting to form in his eyes. Then he chuckled slightly before continuing
"I guess that's kinda ironic though. You guys were practically made for each other. I just wish you had more time to enjoy being mates. You two would've been a force to be reckoned with, we really could've used you in the fight against the guy who bombed the city. It was a hard fight, but we came out on top, well…almost. You guys probably already know but as we were making our getaway, he grabbed Tacker-'' Marshall's voice hitched and his voice shook as he recalled the memories.

"He had a suicide vest and Tracker told us to run as he used his cables to get them as far away as he could to save us." The spotted pup began to break down but was comforted by a white paw resting on his shoulder. He looked over to see a Husky with lavender fur and blue eyes and two pups on her back. One was mostly lavender with black and white spots scattered around their fur. The other was

Black and White with Lavender spots.
"Hey, I miss them too Marshy. But we gotta stay strong. They wouldn't want us to stay in the past, they would want us to move on."

"Yeah, I know Eve, but it's just so hard to go about my day without them. Skye was the glue that held us together. She was always so cheerful, and she could brighten a room with just a smile. She radiated happiness. And Chase… he was my brother, and the second in command. Now I don't have Skye to help me cheer up the pups and I have to take Chase's spot as second in command, so now everyone is looking up to me and I don't even know how to deal with all this pressure and the expectations. I guess I just miss him too much to think clearly."

“Well, you’re here now, and I’m sure he’s looking down on all of us right now.” Everest said, reassuring her mate.
“All you have to do is call out, and I’m sure he’ll be right by your side again.” She said as she patted his shoulder,
“I’m going to meet up with Ryder in the others, let me know if you need me.” Then she walked away, leaving the Dally to his thoughts.

“Let’s give this a try,” he sighed before taking a breath.

“It's been a long day without you, my friend
And I'll tell you all about it when I see you again
We've come a long way from where we began
Oh, I'll tell you all about it when I see you again
When I see you again
Damn, who knew?
All the planes we flew, good things we been through
That I'd be standing right here talking to you
'Bout another path, I know we loved to hit the road and laugh
But something told me that it wouldn't last
Had to switch up, look at things different, see the bigger picture
Those were the days, hard work forever pays
Now I see you in a better place
Uh
How can we not talk about family when family's all that we got?
Everything I went through, you were standing there by my side
And now you gon' be with me for the last ride

It's been a long day without you, my friend
And I'll tell you all about it when I see you again (I'll see you again)
We've come a long way (yeah, we came a long way)
From where we began (you know we started)
Oh, I'll tell you all about it when I see you again (I'll tell you)
When I see you again

The Dally sighed as his eyes welled up
with tears as he stopped singing.

“I knew it was never going to work, what was I thinking? Ugh I’m such an idiot.”

Suddenly a new voice filled the air.

First, you both go out your way and the vibe is feeling strong
And what's small turned to a friendship, a friendship turned to a bond
And that bond will never be broken, the love will never get lost

And when brotherhood come first, then the line will never be crossed
Established it on our own when that line had to be drawn
And that line is what we reached, so remember me when I'm gone

How can we not talk about family when family's all that we got?
Everything I went through you were standing there by my side
And now you gon' be with me for the last ride

Marshall gasped in surprise as his voice filled the air once again as the hazy silhouette of a familiar German Shepard appeared in front of him, and finally the voices of two brothers sang in harmony once more

So let the light guide your way, yeah
Hold every memory as you go
And every road you take
Will always lead you home, home
It's been a long day without you, my friend
And I'll tell you all about it when I see you again
We've come a long way from where we began
Oh, I'll tell you all about it when I see you again
When I see you again
When I see you again
See you again
When I see you again

Tears of joy filled Marshall’s eyes as he went to embrace Chase but Marshall being Marshall and Chase being nothing more than a spirit, he tumbled through Chase and stopped in front of the memorial of Chase and Skye.

Chase chuckled a bit and shook his head. “You don’t have to lead the pups alone, you know, it’s alright to ask for help.”

“But what if I still can’t do it?” The dalmatian asked as he slowly stood up.

“Then tell Ryder, he’ll understand, but until then stop doubting yourself. You’re more capable than you let yourself believe. Don't focus on the what ifs, focus on the now.”

“You’re right,” the Dally sighed. “Thanks Chase, I really needed that.”

“If you ever need me just call out.” The Shepherd smiled. “Oh, and good job with Everest and congrats to you both on the pups. You two are going to be great parents. Just don’t forget to tell them about Uncle Chasey.” Suddenly another smaller spirit appeared beside Chase and hit him in the shoulder.

“You’d better not forget about their Auntie Skye!” she scolded.

Marshall chucked a bit and reassured her that he would make sure to tell his pups all about them. Skye appeared to be satisfied with his response as she took Chase by his ear and started to drag him back to whence they came. “Aww come on Skye!! Can’t we talk a little longer?” The Shepherd complained
“Nope! Tonight is Family Night, you promised.” She said sternly as she continued to drag her poor pouting mate back to the afterlife. “Tell Eve and the others we said “Hi”” she said as they both faded away.

The dally chuckled to himself as he walked to where the others were. He could imagine Skye scolding her mate for almost missing their family night and he laughed.

“Till I see you again” He said to no one in particular.

A/N: This remains to be one of my favorite songs and it can almost always get some tears out of me. RIP PAUL WALKER, YOU WILL BE AND ARE MISSED.

Anyways I hope you enjoyed this short series. I wanted to try this format out and see how it does. This was originally just one part but I found a way to connect it so I took it. These stories have been sitting in my docs for about a year so it's nice to get them published finally anyways thanks to FritsAlone for the idea and yeah.
