I wander

I wonder as I wander
Why did Jesus give his life
Just for sinners
Like you and I?
Why did the Lord do everything that he could
Just as we now talk about it as we should
To save humanity or what is left?
Cause we are indeed doomed to the end
Because we are sinners in our every cell
And we shall be locked not loved till the end
Why did someone so good exist,
Just for people to treat Him like mist,
Just to be put through dirt and through pain
What did they have to gain
From causing something unbearably inhumane?
Why did God love us enough
Not to treat us just like dirt?
Just like we all treated His son,
Like He was holding a gun
Shooting someone so close to their mom.
Why did just God forgive us all?
Why have mercy on people who sold
All their souls in a casino for gold?
Bloodshed gold, the truth to be told.
As these questions make their way to my heart
My soul is just torn apart
Between why did He from the start
Give us a freewill to crush it in half?
And how did He just forgive us at dawn?
