Once we got back from Dworgon the dwarves got to work teaching the goblins how to make armor and jewelry and build. That was of course after getting them some new equipment, as the sudden teleportation by Shiro was very unexpected.

There were also a bunch of new goblins in the village, I then spent 3 days in sleep mode because it seemed that Shiro was missing. even though she didn't say much about it, I could tell she was very alarmed about finding the Demon Lord named Ariel in this world.

Speaking of Shiro, between Vesta, and now the new goblins I haven't gotten a chance to fully digest that she's my destined one, the one I will spend the rest of my life with, my lover... I don't even know her very well. Heck I don't even know the full extent of her power, I know she can teleport, and that's about it... Maybe I can get her to tell me.

A couple of days passed and there was still no sign of Shiro, I was getting worried. it seemed that a lot of animals in the forest were disappearing. This means something or someone is in the forest killing things.

Then Rigurd suddenly appeared and told me that some Humans were in the forest of Jura. I decided to check it out. Rigurd seems to think that they are scouts sent by an expansionist nation.

After a moment of hopping, I found the Humans being chased by some giant ants, when suddenly the ants fell over I walked over to them. The humans seemed just as confused as me. something caused the ants to die, as they still had their weapons ready.

"Um, Do you guys know what killed those ants?" I asked startling them.

"You mean you didn't do it?" Said the blonde one.

"If it wasn't me, and it wasn't one of you guys, then- WHAT!?" I was cut off when the ants suddenly disappeared.

"Hey, why don't you guys come with me to my village? there's something in the forest killing animals. luckily it hasn't killed any of my village yet so it may not be interested in large groups."

"Oh, that makes sense. Then I say we take you up on that offer."

Once we got back we parted ways, I let Rigurd handle them. While I decided that I should probably look for my destined one. Having her die within the first few days of finding out that she's my destined one would be a letdown and a slap in the face.

I decided to search the forest, though I was fully aware that the monster could even hide from magic scenes so it could launch a surprise attack on me at any moment, so I kept my guard up the entire time.

After an hour or so I gave up for the day, as I should welcome our guests into our village. Better late than never, I am one of the leaders after all.

I got to the hut where the Human adventurers were, Rigurd and Rigur greeted me.

"Lord Rimuru, have you had any luck with finding Lord Shiraori?" Rigurd asks.

"Unfortunately, no I can't seem to find her anywhere."

Rigur pipes up, "Maybe one of the skills she has is some sort of stealth skill that makes it so she can't be found if she doesn't want to?"

"That is probably the case.  But that won't stop me from trying to find her! Anyway, how are our guests?" I ask.

Rigurd looks a little uncomfortable and says "They seem to have a rather... Unique personalities. They finished eating a while ago and are now talking inside."

I entered the hut and Rigurd introduced me as one of the 2 leaders of the village, Rimuru Tempest.

They introduced themselves as Kavel, Gido, Eren, and Shizu. I noticed that Shizu sat like someone from Japan, her black hair was also reminiscent of someone from Japan, and Veldora did say that I'm not the only person who was from another world. So I think that she is probably from Japan. to test this theory, and to show them that I mean no harm I say, "Don't worry, I'm not gonna hurt you! I'm not a bad slime!"

Shizu stifled a laugh. Well, that settles it, She's just like me and Shiro, she's from Earth, and most likely Japan.

My thought process was interrupted by Kaval, "So, Rimuru, does this monster in Jura have a name, or is it just called the 'Monster in the great forest of Jura'?"

That was a good question.

"No one has ever actually seen the monster so for all we know I could be multiple creatures. But seeing as all eyewitnesses say that the monsters die suddenly and without warning and all in a similar manner. I just assumed it was a singular monster, but it may be more than one... To answer your  question the monster doesn't have a name."

"Then seeing as this is your land how about you give it a name so that we don't have to call it 'The monster in the great forest of Jura' or 'That phenomenon in the great forest of Jura that involves monsters dying quietly and unexpectedly'?"

"Okay, I'll think one up."

Well, let's see. It's a killer so its name needs to have something to do with that. it's also silent and unexpected. So Hakshi? Or maybe Shimoku? Both roughly translate to 'silent death' and that's kind of what it is... silent death. Maybe I should give it a name that involves assassinations? Out of laziness, I'm just gonna go with Shimoku. As I don't feel like spending a whole lot of time on this.

"I'll call the creature or phenomenon or whatever it is, Shimoku!"

"Impressive as always Lord Rimuru," Rigurd sang my praises. I have to admit, I am pretty proud of the name, it took me all of 10 seconds to come up with it!

"Thank you, thank you, I spent a lot of time on it."

"So this Shimoku, you said it only kills monsters right? Doesn't that mean you guys are at risk as well?" Shizu asks.

"As someone who was just in the forest searching for my destined one or future lover, I found out about just a while ago without incident, I'm starting to think that it doesn't attack intelligent life, this is further proven when it saved you from the ants."

"So the creature must have some intelligence." Adds Rigurd.

"Exactly! Shimoku is getting to be a real problem as we are running low on food, so we need to find out who or what Shimoku is and put a stop to it, and if possible convince it to join us."

"When did Shimoku first appear?" Shizu asked. She seems to have more experience than the rest of us in uncovering mysteries.

"Around the same time Shiraori disappeared, Shiraori is my future lover according to a talented fortune teller who has a 100% accuracy rate, and I'm really worried about her."

"Could it be that Shiraori is stopping it from going after intelligent life? Maybe by threatening it in some way?" Shizu theorized.

"That might explain why she's gone... but why didn't she tell me about it?"

"Maybe she thought that she could handle it alone?"

"Sound's like something she would do."

We continued theorizing until they had to go to bed.

While they slept I continued to theorize about the correlation between Shiro's disappearance and the appearance of Shimoku.

That was until Shiro appeared and said that she wanted to talk.
