Recovering from Superior

Chapter 20

Peter extracted himself from his bed and headed towards the shower to clean himself and hopefully wash away the feeling of embarrassment that had befallen him that morning.

"Seriously? I can't believe this happened." He said disheartened as he turned on the shower head and let the water flow until it got hotter.

He put all the dirty laundry into the hamper and jumped in the shower to begin his cleanse. All the while he couldn't help but think about the weird dream he had which seemingly caused his embarrassing moment.

'But what was all that about anyway?' He questioned wondering what spurred on such a dream.

'And who was it I was imagining?' He continued to question the details of the dream. 'I mean... I know it hasn't been really great for me lately but why all of a sudden.'

The more he thought about it the less it made sense to him, but it seemed there was no use in thinking about it any further, after all it was just a dream and aside from his general curiosity he didn't need to delve into it any further.

However his mind did still linger on the mystery woman in his dream, sure the reasoning why such a dream happened my not be important for him now but quite literally the woman of his dreams certainly did.

There weren't many women who he could think of who would line up with what he had experienced in his dream. Lately he did have a bit of a wandering mind after Laura showed off that lingerie she got a little while ago but nothing of the sort had happened sense.

And besides... Laura from his experience is quite a volatile and fierce woman, unlike the woman in his dream who was dominate but she had a certain calmness to her tone of voice which was very unlike the explosive Laura he knew.

Some of the details he could remember from the mystery woman were her red lips, seemingly black hair and her body type. He couldn't exactly speak for everyone when it came to women he knew or where in his life who matched that vague description.

And given his recent relationships with many of them presently it was unlikely that his mind began to wander towards them, whether it be because they still did not trust him or just not like him in general, or that he had yet to forgive them after the whole Octavius incident.

After already ruling out Laura the others that came to mind where either Jessica or Cindy. But he doesn't think that either woman fit the bill.

For one, Jessica was still on the rocks with him after Octavius. Mostly for the fact that she had yet to give any sort of apology for her treatment of him, sure she and him hadn't seen much of each other for her to do so but that still left the chance that he would even forgive her anyway.

Not to mention that before Octavius she held a bit of a grudge against him, no thanks to Barton, who convinced her he left her behind to save himself like some kind of coward.

Which pretty much only left Cindy, and if he were being honest he thought she might've fit the bill, after all the two did have a rather close connection on the count of their powers coming from the same spider which causes them to emit powerful pheromones when they are in close proximity to one another.

But she had gotten control over her pheromones a while ago so the two of them don't immediately try to jump one another once they've so much as laid eyes on each other. Also she had been quite absent as of late due to her trying to find and reconnect with her family after so long, he was sure that the two of them were still on good terms even if she did hear about Octavius' antics in his body that mess had been cleared up so she shouldn't hold any animosity for that.

But as for her role in his dream last night, Peter wasn't entirely convinced it was her either. Simply for the fact that Cindy wasn't exactly as soft spoken as this woman was, plus Cindy had shorter hair now from when he first met her all that time ago in that bunker. Sure she could have grown it out a little but it just didn't... fit.
