Chapter 7: Helping Hiro

The next morning, Violet was being a really useful engine. She huffed and she puffed. She shoved and she shunted, without stopping to ease her axles. Spencer watched Violet's every wheel turn and piston pump. He didn't go work on the Duke and Duchess' summer house. He was so focused on watching Violet that he didn't see Gordan go by pulling a flatbed of old parts for Hiro on the track above him. Violet saw Gordan. Gordon saw Violet and they smiled.

[Gordan set off]

Violet had worked hard all day. She had to go visit Percy at the Sodor Steamworks. Gordon steamed towards Violet. He was beaming from buffer to buffer. He was very happy to be helping Hiro.

Gordon: Job Done! Job Done!

Violet: Good. Now, you should hurry. The Express...

Gordon: Mustn't be late!

They let out a few chuckles and puff away from each other.

Violet: Well Done, Gordon!

Gordon: Thank You, Violet!

[The scene changes to the Steamworks where Thomas is already waiting for her inside and the workman are working and Percy is being fixed]

At the Sodor Steamworks, sparks flew and cogs creaked. Percy was almost ready to leave. Percy, Thomas and Violet smiled. Then Sir Topham Hatt arrived. He was cross.

Sir Topham Hatt: Thomas, Violet and Percy, the mail trucks are still missing. Tomorrow, you must find them.

Percy: Yes, sir.

Thomas: Of course, sir.

Violet: On it, sir.

Victor could see that Violet, Thomas and Percy were worried.

Victor: Percy, you're all fixed. Come on, Violet, cheer your friends up.

Thomas and Percy follow Violet as she leads the way out of the Steamworks.

[The scene changes to Violet, Thomas and Percy going to Hiro's Hideout]

Violet, Percy and Thomas puff up to Hiro's hideout. Thomas and Percy saw Hiro for the first time. Percy gasped and Thomas' eyes widen.

Percy: (gasp)

Violet: Hiro, these are my Friends, Thomas and Percy.

Percy: (a bit shy) Uh, hello

Thomas: Hello

Hiro: Hello, Thomas and Percy. You both have a very special friend. I think that is because both of you are special too.

Percy:(blushes) Do you have best friends?

Hiro: Yes, I do. At home.

Thomas: Do you miss them?

Hiro: I do.

Violet: That must be so hard for you, knowing you might not see your friends again after a long time or if they had forgotten you or if they... you know, got turned to scrap...

Hiro: Yes, it can be.

Violet: That must be very sad.
