"I'll think about it." I reply as I shift from foot to foot. The subject drops and everyone grabs ahold of their belongings. We all head out. Damien and I are the first to exit, as we round through the upstairs doors; we're shot at. Damien automatically pushes me back which causes me to fall on the floor. Gun shots ring out behind us and in front of us. I watch as a bullet grazes Damien's arm and hits the wall beside my body. Bear and Reaper are in front of me now as if protecting me. Kaiser grabs my arms and pulls me behind everyone else. He runs towards the front and begins to fire away. What feels like an eternity, the gun fire ends. I can't tell if anyone around me has been hit. Blade walks next to me and gives me his left hand. He helps me to my feet as he tucks his gun in his waistband.
He carries a gun? He's what seventeen?!
What the hell have I gotten into?
As I watch around bodies of everyone, I notice bullet holes in the walls that surround us. You can clearly see where everyone was standing and how close the shots were from everyone. Either these people are lucky or the shooters had shitty aim. I'm thinking it might be both. I look around to see the enemies running, well limping, towards safety. Most have a limp while some are holding their shoulder or arm. Not a single stray bullet in the walls where they had once stood.
Maybe I should consider training with these people. I mean they kicked ass in the ring and have excellent shooting skills. I mean, they surrounded me so I wouldn't get in the cross fire. They made me feel protected and safe by just being with them. I felt like that all day as I was with them. I didn't feel like I was going to get hurt or was in any danger really except the shoot out. But, again they protected me.
"Fucking Stupidi!" Kaiser mutters.
"Dumbasses is correct." Dawson growls out as he walks beside a possible pregnant Rylee.
"Who thinks they can shoot at us and we won't fight back? Some sore ass Fica mother fuckers." Dylan grumbles as he walks with his arm over Kenna's shoulder. You can hear grumbles and chorus of yeahs behind us. I can see blood still dripping from Damien's arm. Damien waves by as we make it to his car. He stashes his cash into a secret compartment in his trunk. I swear in that compartment, it has nearly half a million in it. I walk around to my side of the car in a gobsmacked state.
What does he do?
We get in and he speeds back home. By the time we have pulled up in his driveway, it's already midnight. Before he can make it to his door, I stop him.
"Get a first aid kit with a needle and surgical thread. Meet me at my hammock."
I walk off to my hammock, not giving him room for argument. Moments later he comes out with what I requested.
"It's just a small graze nothing more nothing less. It'll be fine." He calls out as he comes closer to me.
"Shut up and get over here before I bruise the other side of your jaw next." I threaten with a smirk. Do I think I could possibly do it again? No. He's like a trained assassin for fuck sake. He sits on my hammock as he shines a flash light on his wound. Okay, he doesn't need any stitches because the smug ass is correct. It's just a graze. All I can do is clean it out the best I can. I open the first aid and pull out a gauze pad. I apply pressure on his wound as I do so; Damien sucks in a deep breath. Damien catches my attention with his deep breath. When I look over at him to make sure he's still alive or still conscious; he's staring back at me. My breath hitches in my throat and I quickly glance back down at his covered wound. My face heats up and I know I'm embarrassed. It's the only time my face feels like it's on fire. I remove the gauze and start to clean it out with sterilized saline. I pat it dry again before putting antibiotic cream on his wound to keep it damp so it doesn't dry out. If the wound is wet, it heals quicker. I place a clean gauze on his wound and tape it up. I place everything back into its spot and close the first aid up. Damien turns off the flashlight as I hand the first aid back to him. He takes his leave without saying a thank you or a fuck you. He freeze at our fence and turns back around.
"That's just part of how dangerous I am. You don't want to see the rest. Don't push your luck and stay away from me." Is all he says. He disappears into the darkness like he wasn't here in the first place. I wanted to say he wasn't dangerous but refrained from it.
Do I think he's dangerous? Maybe. Do I care any? Not at all. Did I enjoy today? Yes I did. However I didn't enjoy being shot at when I can't defend my own self. Would I repeat today over again? Yes, a thousand times yes. Did the MC scare me? No, not one bit. They felt like a second home. A second family. Does Damien scare me? Hell no. He only intrigues me more than before.
Maybe I should ask him for weapons training.
