A randomly chosen pizzeria

The girls leave the campus early in the evening, hoping not to encounter anyone they know. Once they enter the pizzeria, they are greeted by a smiling waiter who, speaking with a pronounced Californian accent, welcomes them and escorts them to their table. There are wooden tables with checkered tablecloths, and the decoration is rather plain; it's a place mainly frequented by athletes and students, and the style is not so different from Don's, which makes Casey feel at home but also brings Evan to mind, briefly spoiling her mood. As much as she pretends that the problem doesn't exist and refuses to think about it at least until her return to Connecticut, a few details are enough to remind her that she still has to give concrete shape to her decision and that seeing Evan and talking to him upon her return will be very complicated. It was Evan that Casey sent one of the messages to, just before going out with Izzie.

And the last one was for Evan.

Casey felt terrible about how she was behaving towards Evan, but she kept reminding herself that letting herself be carried away by the feelings she had for Izzie was the right thing to do

Casey felt terrible about how she was behaving towards Evan, but she kept reminding herself that letting herself be carried away by the feelings she had for Izzie was the right thing to do. Having the opportunity to spend time with her away from home and not being able to talk to him except on the phone had allowed her to justify encouraging Izzie while Evan was in the dark. With this awareness, she takes her seat at the table and, smiling, begins to browse the menu, pushing away any sense of guilt.
