Mr and Mrs Solomons

"This was the boy I loved, a little bit messy. A little bit ruined. A beautiful disaster. Just like me"

Mariana's POV

"We shouldn't" I said breathlessly, moaning as he kissed my neck
"Then tell me to stop" he said, his hands running down my body as I gasped against the wall

"Alfie-"
"Tell me to stop" he said, pulling away
I looked up at him. Thinking...

Before I pulled him back to me, kissing him as he pulled me up to wrap my legs around his waist
I was unsure how he was able to hold me up with the pain he was having recently

But I was also too lost in the moment to care
He placed me down in the bed, climbing over me as he kissed down my collarbone, pulling my dress down

"Alfie" I sighed, letting myself go to him

The next morning I woke up naked, splayed across Alfie's body, his arms around me as he slept
I sat up slowly, regret and... lack of guilt both filling me at the same time.

I looked at the door, then to Alfie
And I decided to lay back down, back into his hold
I decided to give myself a morning as if everything was the way it used to be.

When I woke up hours later. I was alone
I got dressed, finding Alfie and the boys in the grand living room we had been given
Attached to a bar
It was a palace for a bachelor, a lavish room for a man to waste his money on drugs and whores

"You're awake" Alfie said
"Clearly" I chuckled, kissing Carter on the top of the head as I passed them.

"We got an invitation this morning" Alfie said as I made myself some coffee
"From?" I asked
"Ford" he said, holding it up
"Seems he beat us to it" he went on, I took it from him, sipping my mug as I read it

He wanted to meet us, at his bar?
"A bar?" I raised an eyebrow
"Yeah" he nodded
"God sake, what's he like then?" I asked
"Ford?" He questioned

"Yeah, who does he run with? I searched up on his family. Dead wife. Dead son. One left and a daughter" I reeled off
"Yeah, his wife died years ago, heart attack. His son got shot... when I was lived over here, he was just a kid" he explained

"A kid?"
"Yeah, 12, shot on their doorstep" he informed
"That's awful" I said
"Yeah well... Franks awful. Cold bastard, whole family is" he said.

"You know the family well?" I asked calmly, trying to gage a reaction
Irene's words hadn't left me
"Used to. The families used to get along well before Nelson moved in on Boston, divided us up. Then everything became about territory" he explained, I eyed him as I stood behind him and Laurence
