—THE SLYTHERINS AND THE GRYFFINDORS HAD ANOTHER POTIONS LESSON TOGETHER. "Today, you will be making the Calming Draught," said Professor Snape. "You will need Lavender, crocodile heart, and peppermint. If you add too much peppermint oil, you will have a burning mouth and won't stop sobbing. Each of you will have to try your potion in the end. Begin."Draco went to grab the ingredients for his and Ares's potion, while Ares flipped the pages in his potions book. When he found the page about the calming draught, he started reading it.
"Add the crocodile heart first," instructed Ares. Draco did just that.
Ares mixed it counter clockwise for a minute. "Now, the lavender."
Draco put some lavender into the cauldron.
Ares mixed it clockwise this time for three minutes. While mixing it, he said, "Now the peppermint oil. Careful. It's only three drops."
Draco nodded and put three drops of peppermint oil into the cauldron.
Their potion started bubbling while Ares was mixing it.
"Is it supposed to do that?" Draco's brows furrowed in question.
Ares shrugged. "I think so."
Snape, who was passing by, peered into their potion with a satisfied nod. "Yes, Mr. Malfoy. It is supposed to do that." He confirmed.
Ares put some of the potion in a vile and gave it to Draco when they were done. "You drink it."
Draco's eyes widened. "Why do I have to be the one to drink it?!"
"Because you don't want to see the future dark lord sobbing in the middle of the class if the potion turned out wrong, do you?" Ares shot back in a whisper.
Draco pursed his lips and nodded once. That made sense.
He put the vile to his lips and drank it.
Professor Snape watched.
Nothing happened. Their potion turned out to be right.
"Ten points to Slytherin," said Professor Snape, earning groans from the Gryffindors. He walked over to Ron Weasley and Harry Potter's cauldron.
Harry was putting the potion in a vile and then gave it to a terrified Ron. Ron reluctantly put it to his lips and drank it.
Within just a few seconds, he started clawing at his throat and his eyes started watering.
Professor Snape rolled his eyes. "Ten points from Gryffindor for making the potion wrong."
Harry frowned and looked into the cauldron. "But I added four drops of peppermint." He wondered out loud in confusion, not knowing what he did wrong.
"It's supposed to be three," replied Professor Snape monotonously.
Harry's lips made an 'o' shape as he realized his mistake. "Oops," he shrugged sheepishly. He looked at his now-sobbing best friend. "Sorry, Ron."
Ron did not seem to hear him as he sobbed.
"Get him out of the classroom, Potter. Now." Snape sternly said.
Harry put Ron's arm over his shoulder and started walking out of the classroom with the boy.
"Oh, and Potter?" said Snape. Harry turned around questioningly. "You will have a tutor. You are awfully terrible at Potions and your grades drop every single test."
Harry's shoulders slumped, but he nodded regardless. "Fine, professor." He mumbled.
Snape turned towards Ares. "You will be his tutor, Mr. Riddle."
Ares's brows immediately furrowed. He ignored the shocked looks from his classmates. "Why me?"
"Because you are the best at potions in this classroom," said Snape, ignoring Harry's raised eyebrows.
Hermione Granger spluttered, but was also ignored.
"Now, get that sobbing boy out of my classroom, Potter!"

Their first tutoring lesson was that Saturday. Which was the very next day.
Harry Potter slumped on the chair in the library in front of Ares.
"You are ten minutes late," said Ares without lifting his head from the potions book in front of him.
Harry huffed. "I had to go through Hermione's lecture."
"And what did she lecture you about?"
"She lectured me about not getting too close to you. She lectured me about how you were the worst Slytherin, and how you are the last person I should be talking to."
Ares finally looked up and raised an eyebrow. "And would you follow her advice?"
Harry grinned. "Of course not."
Ares rolled his eyes and gave him the potions book.
"They're already looking at us," noted Harry, motioning towards the whispering Ravenclaws.
"Just ignore them. They always whisper when they see me. I've learned to ignore them."
A look of pity went through Harry's eyes.
Ares ignored it and pointed to the potions book. "Let's start, Potter."
