Sherlin Harold sat comfortably in her New York apartment, bathed in the soft glow of her laptop screen as she logged into the online dating site. It had been three months since that fateful right swipe on Arhaan's profile, and her heart raced with excitement as she recalled the journey they had embarked on.

She hadn't expected to find love when she first  joined the dating site. For Sherlin, it was more about making friends and connecting with people from different corners of the globe.

And Her profession as a pediatrician had left her with a deep affection for children, and it was that very affection that had drawn her to her chosen career.

Arhaan was a revelation in her life, unlike anyone she had ever met, both online and in person. His presence, though only digital, was a delicate yet undeniably masculine force that had captivated her from the start. Their chemistry transcended the virtual world, a connection too profound to be expressed in words.

They were kindred spirits, or as Sherlin believed. Both shared a stoic exterior but possessed hearts overflowing with kindness and empathy. Arhaan was quick to express his concern when he noticed Sherlin neglecting her meals or sacrificing her sleep just to talk to him. "I'm here, baby," he would say, "take rest; we can always talk in the morning." She knew that Pakistan was nine hours ahead of New York, but she couldn't bear the thought of losing someone who cared so deeply.

"Hey there," Arhaan's message popped up on her screen, bringing a smile to her face. "How was your day?"

Sherlin's fingers danced across the keyboard as they exchanged their daily updates. They discussed their work, with Sherlin passionately mentioning her role as a pediatrician in a bustling New York hospital.

"You must be exhausted," Arhaan replied. "But your dedication is inspiring."

Arhaan, employed in a cybersecurity firm with a typical nine-to-five routine in Pakistan, had visited New York a few times. He was quick to appreciate her dedication, and his support meant the world to Sherlin. "It's my passion," she replied. "I love what I do."

Their conversation drifted into lighter topics, and they shared their favorite books and movies. It was during these moments that their connection deepened, allowing them to talk about anything and everything.

As the evening wore on, Arhaan began to open up about his family. "I have five siblings," he began, "but my baby sister, Ayman, she's my favorite. We have nearly 15 years between us."

Sherlin couldn't help but smile, picturing the bond between Arhaan and Ayman. "She's lucky to have a big brother like you."

There was a hint of nostalgia in Arhaan's voice as he spoke about his family. "I wish I could see her more often. But I'm glad we have this connection."

Arhaan made it a point to keep Sherlin updated about his family, specifically about his siblings and mother. Making her feel like she was already one of them. His transparency and the genuine nature of their connection left no room for doubt.

Sherlin's emotions surged, and she realized that Arhaan held a unique place in her heart, unlike anyone else.

Then, on a day that would change everything, Arhaan proposed. "I know it's too early, baby, but I just want to make you mine and be together," he said.

Sherlin was stunned. It was unusual for someone to propose so soon in a relationship, and she knew Arhaan meant what he said and he took their relationship seriously.

"I've applied to many different companies in New York," Arhaan continued. "So, in sha Allah (if Allah wills) I'll be moving there soon."

Sherlin's heart leaped at the news. They were finally going to meet in person, and tears welled up in her eyes. "Shhh, Meri jaan (my love)," Arhaan whispered, knowing just how overwhelmed she was.
