Most people didn't realise that underground bunkers often have 2 entrances, the main one, and a secret back one. The back one was usually hidden, and often some distance away, joining the bunker via a tunnel, it was meant for emergency evacuation only. Ava stealthily moved around the outer perimeter of the area, until she came to a suspicious patch of dirt. It had a pile of freshly cut branches piled in a heap, she shoved the branches away with her foot, and then saw a hatch. Bingo! She'd found the back entrance.

Using her detonation device, she set off the explosives she had placed on one of the CBC SUVs she found parked near the front entrance of the bunker. She knew that would draw their attention to the front entrance, while she could enter the hidden back entrance undetected. Boom! The explosion was loud, the SUV was ripped apart, just as she had planned it. She had to be careful, she wanted to cause disruption, without collapsing the bunker. She needed to get Christie out of there before she rained down hellfire on these CBC scumbags.

Kitted out in black tactical gear, Ava crept down the back entrance tunnel. She could hear a lot of commotion happening, CBC officers running around, and orders being yelled out. Her plan to draw them to the entrance of the bunker had worked perfectly, and she was able to slip through the tunnel undetected. She spotted a large vent on the ceiling that led to the air-conditioning shaft, this would be her way to find Christie.

With her hands bound behind her back, Caspian led Christie into the cell room. He had his hands on her back guiding her, and his hands were shaking. She could sense he was feeling the same tingling sensations she was. He involuntarily leaned his head down towards her neck and heavily sniffed her, he let out a low growl. Was he losing control?

"Who are you? I know you're not Alpha Knight's mate!" he said as he locked the cell door.

"Who am I? Who are you?!  Why is a werewolf working for the CBC? You're a traitor!" yelled Christie. She was furious, it was just her luck. Of course, her cousin is mates with her teenage crush, a blue blood Alpha no less. And of course, she is a mated to a treacherous werewolf, who is working for the CBC. Thanks again moon goddess!

Caspian looked shocked at her outburst.

"What do you mean I'm a traitor? I'm doing valuable work to help both the werewolf and human population. You are the traitors, trying to destroy the CBC and everything it stands for. Without the CBC's valuable research, the entire werewolf population will soon die from Canis Lupus Myeloma."

"Canis Lupus Myeloma? What the hell are you talking about? The only reason the werewolf population is on the decline, is because the CBC keep kidnapping our Lunas, causing widespread infertility. All packs are fighting to stop this, all wolves know this, surely you were taught this in school? Which pack do you belong to?"

Caspian looked stunned at what Christie just said. Before he could answer, the ceiling vent was kicked out, smashing to the floor. Ava descended swiftly on top of Caspian, grabbing him in a choke hold. She quickly removed her tactical knife, from its thigh holster, and held it to his throat. She dug the blade in slightly, drawing blood. She was ready to slit this traitor's throat and get Christie out of here.

"Ava wait! Please don't kill him!"

"We don't have time for this Christie. I have to get you out of here. I don't like killing either, but this wolf is a traitor and deserves death." Ava steadied her blade, she would make it quick.

"No you don't understand, he's my mate!" Ava's hand froze at Christie's words. This was Christie's mate? Then she couldn't kill him, and he would have to come with them. She looked back up at the air-conditioning shaft. Caspian was far too large to fit through the narrow shaft that Ava had just shimmied through.

"Take her cuffs off now. Christie put the cuffs on him once you're free. Bind him in front, not behind his back. We might need him to unlock some doors" she ordered. Caspian un-did Christie's cuffs and handed them to Christie. Christie immediately grabbed his wrists and bound them in front as instructed.

Ava pulled out her detonation device and pressed a button, another smaller explosion went off. This one came from within the bunker, and all the lights went out, it was pitch black. Ava knew they didn't have much time, the back-up generators would soon kick in. She made Caspian unlock the cell door and they moved quickly towards the back tunnel, to the secret exit. Unlike the humans, their keen wolf eyes, were able to see in the dark. Just as they reached the ladder that led up to the escape hatch, the lights came back on.

"There they are! Quickly stop them!" Yelled officer Chad to another soldier, as they came running down the tunnel. The soldier had a pistol pointed at them.

"Don't move or we'll shoot!"

Christie had her hands on the ladder, and Ava tried to push Christie up the ladder so she could quickly escape. Christie began to climb, a shot rang out, just missing Christie's head. Christie jumped back from the ladder.

"That was a warning shot, next time he won't miss" said Chad as they closed in on them. Chad looked at Christie then back at Ava.

"So it's true then, we got the wrong wolf. Nice to meet you Delta Ava, I've just been told we've been entertaining your younger cousin by mistake. Very clever trick you played on us. Caspian come stand over here."

Caspian glances over at Christie, and then moves to stand next to Chad and the other soldier, so he's facing the girls.

"You've caused quite a bit of damage with your little games, but now we have the real you, and that's all we need to reel in your mate."

Chad turns to the officer who has the gun pointed at the girls.

"You can shoot the imposter. We don't need her now. Apparently, she is just a lowly wolf of no importance. Make sure the Delta remains undamaged".

The soldier aims the pistol at Christie's head, just as he is about to pull the trigger, Caspian slams into him from his side. The soldier topples over with Caspian on top of him. Ava wastes no time, she pulls out her knife, and throws it with trained precision at Officer Chad. It hits him directly in the throat, blood spewing out, and he falls to the ground making strange gurgling noises.

Caspian is still grappling with the other soldier on the ground. The soldier, still holding the pistol, manages to fire off a few rounds.  The bullets ricochet off the metal struts running along the tunnel ceiling. Caspian's wolf surfaces, the instinct to protect his mate taking over, his canines descend, and he strikes at the soldier's throat hard, clamping it in his powerful jaw. Shaking his head, he rips the soldiers throat out, and spits it out at Christie's feet.

"Quickly we need to move now, follow me" Ava says as she begins climbing the ladder. Christie follows behind, with Caspian at her rear. Caspian still has his hands bound in front, but he manages to climb the ladder, and all three of them make it out of the escape hatch. Then they run!
