~Brie~

The rest of the weeks went by in a blur. Riccardo hadn't called back or replied to my texts. Aubree looked more miserable, every day.

Cynthia was back, better than ever, and thus, I was no longer Aiden's assistant. But that didn't stop us from going on dates and spending most of our nights together. And these past weeks with Aiden had been nothing but pure bliss.

Mostly because Aiden, was a man on a mission. And the mission was me.

I smiled as I touched one of the petals.

“I'm dying to meet this mystery man of yours” my dad walked in.

I looked up.

“If I had someone court me like this I would have never married your father” my mom joked.

My dad touched a hand to his chest and I laughed.

“Seriously honey, please bring him to our Thanksgiving dinner” Mom pouted.

“Mom please.”

“Your mother's right you know, pumpkin?” Dad turned to me. “If this man is going to be sending my little girl flowers almost every day, he's gotta show his face. We need to put a face behind all these romantic gestures.”

I smiled.

“Well hopefully, you won't have to wait that long to meet him.”

“Hopefully” my dad repeated.

I craned my neck out the living room archway.

“Manny, c'mon, let's go!”

“Coming Mommy!” he called back.

“How long does it take to put on a jersey?” I asked.

“Don't rush my grandson” Mom brushed me off.

I rolled my eyes.

“Is Aubree still asleep?” dad asked.

“I'll go check up on her” Mom sighed and walked out of the living room.

“Morning Nolans” Leslie greeted, walking in.

He paused at the sight of the flowers on the table and arched a brow at me.

“Again?”

“But do you have to keep him a secret, sweetheart?” Dad sighed.

I laughed.

“Knock it off you two.”

As if knowing we were talking about him, my phone rang and his name popped up.

“Is it him?” Leslie pumped his eyebrows at me.

I chuckled and stepped out of the living room, into the backyard.

“Hey, you.”

“Hey to you too, my love. Did you like the roses?”

“I love them. But you don't have to send me flowers like this every day. My parents are getting way too excited... especially my mom.”

“So let her. I want them to know you have someone who fancies you.”

Who still says 'fancy'?

I chuckled.

“Aww I fancy you too” I teased.

“I'm at the mall. You should come shop with me for a bit.”
