Butch sat at the table as Oswald discussed something with his men. He believed they were talking about a move they had to make to expand their territory but to be honest, he wasn't paying attention. He was too engrossed in staring across the room at Y/N, who sat at an armchair in the corner with her boyfriend, Victor Zsasz.

He watched dejectedly as she snuggled into Zsasz's chest and he kissed her forehead, whispering something that made her giggle.

Butch had had a crush on Y/N ever since Zsasz brought her home with him. Apparently, she had been trained in the same guild Zsasz had, and that's how they knew each other. Oswald, of course, had no objections to having another assassin around, especially since she was free. She was happy being around her boyfriend.

Butch didn't mind having Y/N around either, it was Zsasz he had a problem with. Butch couldn't say a single word to Y/N, because Zsasz was always there, and he was super overprotective of her, which was funny considering she was a prolific assassin.

He tried to ignore his feelings for her, but there was something about her prominent (your eye colour) eyes and the sweetness of her smile that made it impossible.

The only one who knew of Butch's feelings for Y/N was Oswald, and he would always try to talk Butch out of them. But it was no use.

"Butch!" Oswald exclaimed, bringing him back to the conversation. "If you're not going to pay attention, then why are you here?"

"Oh, uh, sorry boss." Butch turned red from embarrassment when he noticed Y/N looking over at him with her eyebrow raised. "What was it you were saying?"

Oswald's lips formed a thin line. "You know what? Forget it. Everyone out, we will continue this tomorrow. Everyone except you," he added, pointing at Butch.

Butch sat at the table quietly and waited for everyone to leave. He watched Y/N and Zsasz get up, and Zsasz held his arm securely around her waist as they left the room. He didn't notice Y/N glancing back at him with a look of concern before Zsasz closed the door behind them.

"Butch, come here," Oswald said, beckoning him over.

Butch made his way to the head of the table. Oswald looked him up and down and sighed. "Look, I don't understand what she sees in Victor, okay? I mean, at least you have hair," he commented with a smirk. "But you can't keep allowing Y/N to distract you like this."

"I know, boss, but I mean, look at her! She's perfect. I just want to hold her, to feel her arms wrapped around me," Butch mumbled.

Oswald chuckled. "Believe me, Butch, I want to do way more than that to the lovely Y/N. But she's untouchable."

"Untouchable," Butch repeated, frowning.

Oswald nodded. "You understand? Good. Now, I'm tired of discussing this with you."

"I just want one opportunity to show Y/N how much I care for her, how I'd do anything for her!" Butch continued, much to Oswald's annoyance.

"What part of 'I'm tired of discussing this with you' don't you understand?" Oswald asked.

"Sorry boss," Butch muttered.

Oswald waved his hand. "Now get out of here. I have to recollect for tomorrow."

Butch left the room, and instead of heading back to his bedroom to get some rest, he began to wander the halls. Suddenly, he began to hear the faint sounds of arguing. Curiosity getting the best of him, he followed the voices to none other than Zsasz's room. Pressing his ear against the door, he listened.

"I could've been killed, Victor, don't you understand that?" came Y/N's angry voice.

"You weren't going to be killed. You were fine!" Victor shot back.
