A little wilting at night, a little tired,
Sat a sunflower that everyone admired.
It looked at the petals of all the other flowers,
And thought about their colours for hours and hours.
In his mind he was beautiful only in light,
And lost in rooms of hope to get out of the night.
Little did he know he shone the same in the dark,
Little did he know he was the brightest in the park,
And each night as he waited for the sun to come,
All the other flowers basked in his enchanting hum.
Livened up by the first touch of dew,
He loved with a love only know to a few.
And wishing this love was given to himself too,
The little sunflower would see what is undue.___
