<were different >

"Don't forget to take your medicine every day Everin" Doctor Jennings reminded me as she gave me a box of my medication so I wouldn't run out and it would last me at least 2 years...not that I'll be here for very long

"How could I forget with your constant reminders on my phone every morning " I said chuckling softly

She grinned and patted my head in a motherly way
"I'm serious young lady, has your father received the medical report I issued last week so he would be prepared if your health is ever in danger?" She asked writing something on her clipboard

I clenched my jaw and nodded while forcing a smile "yep he got it" I said lying through my teeth

Knowing damn well i changed the address before she issued the report and instead sent it to my summer home in Hawaii where my family barely visits

Either way my father will never find out about my sickness and I'll be damned before I ever tell him

"Good I would say your all ready to go medical wise" she said sending me a smile
I smiled back before hugging her tightly and whispering a "thank you....for everything" I said clutching her tightly

I felt her arms encase my frame and hug me back with double the intensity "Everin you are so much more then this, this sickness does not define you I know you'll have a beautiful future my dear...I'm always here if you ever need help" she said finally pulling away and wiping the small tears escaping her eyes with her sleeve

I never Cry but in this moment I would if I could

"Go on now darling you have a flight to catch " she said her hazel eyes twinkling and matching her short curly blonde hair  which complimented her features

I mumbled a goodbye with a slight smile before exiting the medical center and walking towards the parking lot where Katie stood near the cab

Once she laid her eyes on me her big black eyes glowed and she started running towards me

"Rin don't forget me!" Katie my only friend at Gregon Boarding school shouts in my ear and wraps her arms around my neck to look me in the eye

Considering she's five foot and I'm five inches taller I have to crane my neck down to give her an eye roll to stop being so dramatic

"You'll visit in the summer katie now get your toddler hands off me" I cursed under my breath with my slight British accent  pushing her off and heading over to the cab

"Everin don't be a prude now and give me a goodbye hug!" Katie yelled behind me
I sighed and gave her a light hug to which in return caused her to squeeze the life out of me

"I'll miss you..." she said whispering in my ear
I sighed rubbing her back "I'll miss you too Kate, we'll see each other soon until then try not to flip off Headmistress Halligans head off with your shenanigans"

"What?! Me! Ora im a child of god" she said batting her eye lashes at me innocently
I rolled my eyes before ruffling her head and Shaking my head at my best friends energy of a five year old
"Sure and I'm saint Mary" I said sarcasm dripping in my tone

She sent me a goofy grin before we both erupted into laughter

"I'll miss you rin!"
"I'll miss your too dork"

I stepped away and slid into the car and shut the door close I nodded my head letting the driver know we could depart now

katie ran behind the cab and waved her arms goodbye as the car exited the gates of gregon boarding school I only waved back and a giggle escaped my lips as I watched my best friend frantically saying goodbye and then slowly disappear in the distance

Next stop, New york

<your boarding begins in fifty minutes. First class please check in first the boarding gates are ready for you>

The mic announced, I was across the hall from my gate at a Starbucks as one of my bodyguards I think his name was kale or something ordered my drink for me and I stayed seated scrolling on my phone when I heard commotion at the front desk of the gate

I raised an eyebrow confused at what was occurring
It seemed to be a commoner arguing with the workers about boarding

I rolled my eyes as kale passed me my Machiato and I stood up heading to the desk ready to board

I took my golden ID card out of my front coat pocket and showed it to the lady who immediately let me pass but before I could enter I heard an elderly woman's voice screech

"HOW COME SHES SO IMPORTANT THAT SHE GETS TO BOARD FIRST!" she said pointing at Me causing everyone's heads to turn

"WERE ALL HUMANS WERE THE SAME WE SHOULDNT BE TREATED ANY DIFFERENTLY!"

Yet some people just don't get it right...

I handed my purse to kale and walked back to the desk

The woman stopped yelling as my knee high platform boots clackled on the floor making my presence known

I had my shades on but I could tell she knew I was glaring hard behind them

"Who are you to act better then us huh!?" She said stuttering a bit then motioning her hand to the line of people behind her seeming to question me aswell

"What makes you better!? Money? Were the same!" She yelled hitting the stacks of paper on the desk making the employees rush to pick it up

"STOP" my voice filled the room and echoed off the walls as everyone stood still

"Do you really wish to know what makes us so different " I said pointing between Me and her

She seemed scared but nodded hesitantly

I smiled

A smile I've used so many times just to put people in their place

"Look at your attire-" I said pausing as my eyes trailed down her appearance from her bird nest hair to her worn our sandals and yoga pants that were definitely too stretched out "and now look at mine"

I said all this eyeing her as she touched herself consciously

"That...makes us very different. Dont ever compare yourself with someone better then you" I said my glare clearly affecting her through my shades

I walked closer to her until I leaned right next to her ear and whispered

"Because you know very well just like me that money and power are everything In this world..."

I grabbed my coffee and poured it on her making her gasp as the coffee now drenched her clothes

"Pick up the papers and if you don't You'll regret it "

With that I passed through the gate and entered the plane

"Kale why on earth did father not send the jet? I would not have to put up with this load of crap" I said as we took our seats

Kale answered in a stoic voice "The boss said it would be a good way for you and i quote *see the way your fortune operates* "

I scoffed "so he made me walk in a place filled with commoners and deal with one? Unbelievable " I sighed as I slipped my glasses off knowing my father bought the whole first class for me so I wouldn't fuss as much

Kale didn't answer back after all their trained to not speak unless we speak directly to them

I closed the mini curtain and decided to take a nap during the flight

~
Once I stepped off the plane I handed my purse to kale as the stewardess guided us outside to where the cab was waiting for me

I slid in the backseat and kale took the passenger seat

The chauffeur remained silent and proceeded on the way home

My gaze had stayed on the window as the car passed by many places I had forgotten as a child when me and Lucas would sneak out so we wouldn't feel suffocated by the pressure of being watched 24/7

Oh the days when I was just....a child
