Not long after he got better, Johnny skipped and sang near the mill pond with Ginny and Toby.
Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay

Plenty of sunshine heading my way
Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay
Johnny: Mister Bluebird on my shoulder
It is the truth, it's actual, everything is satisfactual
all: Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay
Wonderful feeling, wonderful day
Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay
My oh my what a wonderful day
Plenty of sunshine, heading my way
Brer Rabbit himself hopped up and greeted the kids. "How you come on? How DO you do?"
"Oh! Hello there, Brer Rabbit" said Johnny.
"Howdy, Brer Rabbit!" said Ginny.
"Yes sir! Diss here's one o' dem zip-a-dee-doo-dah days do' sho" said Brer Rabbit.
He started the song again and the kids joined.
