Ash unexpectedly woke up early after the party has finished it was the best feeling that he had in a while but he remembered about his battle with gary's cousin blue, throughout his journey he fought a lot of trainers he won some battle and lost some but it was the first time that he was defeated like that, he was in awe that there was a trainer like that who was very strong and really trusted his pokemon, make no mistake the bonds he created with his pokemon the evidence was his Greninja. 

Ash : i couldn't that there was still a trainer that really strong, i thought Leon, Cynthia , Steven, Diantha and other champions were strong but what gary said is really true that he was on a whole new league......

Pikachu : Pika....

Ash : Don't worry I'm not mad at how could I we are best buddies after all it took me by surprise is all.

Pikachu : Pika!

Ash : now I'm curious about him how about we ask gary and prof oak about him

Pikachu : * nods * pika!!

talking about the strong trainer that defeated them,  the young trainer hurriedly prepare for another journey to the prof oak lab to ask information about the old trainer and ask for a rematch but this time with enough preparation so he could win he felt like if he beat him they would improve their bond once more but to his surprise before stepping outside his house his friends gathered to check on him if he was fine or not

Ash : oh everyone what are you all doing here?

Selena : we were worried about you ash 

Bonnie and Max : yeah 

Tracey : but knowing you ash you'll bounce back as always

Others : * nods *

Ash : don't worry about me guys i was just surprised that he won the battle with flying colors

Misty : i should have told you about him

Brock : .... but it was already too late.

Ash : what do you mean you too... do you know gary's cousin?

Brock : not just know him we already fought him in the past

Misty : yeah....

Ash : !.... did you guys win?

Misty and Brock : No, we didn't and just like you we suffered a humiliating defeat by his hands

Ash : wait you mean before we went on a journey??

Both : Yes

Brock : we can but it's best if we go to the professor lab for more information

Agreeing to the suggestions of Brock they all went to professors lab for more information but to their shock a lot of people, from different regions the noticable ones were the current champions, other dex holders and the gym leaders,  they were all gathered outside just to ask questions on who he was but if possible ask him for a battle.
