I enjoyed the rare sunny day by staying in my room, listening to my favorite tunes. I was a huge fan of The Beatles and The Neighbourhood, two bands that had very different styles but equally amazing songs. I had Prey by The Neighbourhood on repeat for hours, losing myself in the lyrics and the melody. It was the perfect song for my mood.

I was so absorbed in the music that I didn’t notice someone entering my room. I felt a gentle tap on my shoulder and I snapped out of my trance. I took off my Sennheiser headphones and put them on my desk.

I jumped when I felt someone touch my shoulder. I spun around and saw Finn grinning at me. He was my older brother, Finneas, and he loved to tease me. “Jesus, Finn, you scared the hell out of me,” I said, trying to sound annoyed. He laughed and ruffled my hair. Not going to lie, he was the best brother ever. We never fought over anything, not even the little things. We were more like best friends than siblings.

"Yo, I have a surprise for you."  What is it, Finn? You know I hate surprises." I pouted. "Trust me, you’ll love this one. Remember how you’ve always wanted to see The Neighbourhood live?"

"Yeah, of course. They’re my favorite band. Why?" "Well, I managed to get us two tickets for their concert next week. And not just any tickets, but VIP passes. We get to meet the band backstage and hang out with them."

My eyes widened, "What the fuck? No way! How did you do that? That’s amazing, Finn. Thank you so much. I love you bro."  "You’re welcome, bozo. And you can thank Jesse for this. He’s the one who got this shit for us. He’s the lead singer of The Neighbourhood, in case you didn’t know. He’s also my best friend. We met at a music festival a few years ago and we got along really well. He’s cool. You’ll like him."

"Wait, what? Jesse is your best friend? And you never told me? How could you keep this from me, Finn? He’s my idol. He’s my everything. I can’t believe you know him personally. And you’re going to introduce me to him? Oh my god, Finn. This is the best surprise ever. I’m so excited. I can’t wait to meet him. Maybe he’ll fall in love with me and we’ll get married and have beautiful babies. Or maybe he’ll just be nice to me and I’ll faint. Either way, I’m happy. Thank you, thank you, thank you. You’re the best brother ever."

"Whoa, whoa, whoa. Slow down the fuck down Billie. Don’t get your hopes up too high. Jesse is a nice guy, but he’s also very busy and popular. He has a lot of fans and admirers. He might not have time to talk to you much. And he might not be interested in you romantically. He’s older than you, but of course, I ain't a bitch who talks about 'age gaps'—"

"And he has a girlfriend. Her name is Devon. She’s a model. She’s very pretty. And very jealous lol. She doesn’t like it when Jesse talks to other girls. Especially cute ones like you. So don’t get any ideas, okay? Just be yourself and be respectful. And my, if you actually faint, respectfully, I'mma laugh my ass out."

I slapped his shoulder, "Bitch don't tell me he has a girlfriend. I give no shit to all of those stuff." "You deal with that." "Well, I’m still happy to meet him. Even if he doesn’t like me back or even if he has a girlfriend. I’m still a huge fan of his music. And his voice. And his personality." God his face and his body.

"I’m still grateful for this opportunity. Still excited for the concert. And I’m still excited for the surprise. Thank you motherfucker. You’re the best brother ever."
