The Prodigious Dual Bender

Chapter 1

We see a young man, about the age of 17, meditating crosslegged in a beautiful clearing where the earth was quiet an peaceful. He has black hair tied into a small bun with eyes as clear as the sea. He has on black pants and a white tank top over a black jacket. His face was quite androgynous and was clearly what people would call a heart throb. This young mans name is Akira and he is the first dual bender to ever exist.

After a couple of minutes in the same position, Akira stands up and makes his way back to his home on Air Temple Island.

Once he gets there, we see him walking up the stairs of the porch and waves his hand towards one of the air acolytes as a sign of greeting and enters his come just in time for breakfast.

"I wonder what Aunt Pema made today. Her food is always delicious." Akira said in a soft voice.

While walking towards the dining room, he saw his little sister, Jinora, coming out of her room and decided to greet her on his to get to his desired location. She was wearing traditional airbending clothes and had her brown hair in a bun.

"Hey Jinora. Are you going to the dining area to get some breakfast?" Akira asked.

"Yes I am. Though I have to prepare to pack some clothes for our trip to the Southern Water Tribe in the South Pole. Are you not coming with us?" Replied Jinora with a tone of curiosity laced in her speech.

"I don't know if I should come or not. I will have to ask father and see what he thinks about this." Akira said replying in a soft voice.

"Then let's not keep him waiting and enter the dining area or else Meelo and Ikki will just eat all of the food." Jinora said in a teasing tone as she left towards the dining area.

As the two of them reached their desired location in the temple, they both heard a boy making sounds of that is similar to a dying seal.

"When are they going to get here. We've been waiting forever for those two" Cried out Meelo as he was really hungry this morning. He was also wearing traditional airbending clothes and was clean shaven.

"Your brother and sister will join us soon. For now you must exercise some patience Meelo." Replied Tenzin as he was enjoying some freshly brewed jasmine tea. He was in traditional airbending clothes except this one was for a master airbender.

"Look daddy look, They're both here. Can we eat now? I'm starving." Said Ikki in a strained and hyper voice. She was also wearing traditional airbending clothes just like her sibling and had her hair in a yellow bun.

"Oh, let them eat Tenzin. They are just growing kids who are hungry." Replied the voice of Pema who had just came in the dining area just as a few acolytes put down the prepared food.

"Sigh. Very well then. Let us pray before we eat this wonderful meal." Tenzin said as he clasped both of his hands together and started praying just as Akira and Jinora sat down and joined him in his prayer.

As they were digging in to their breakfast, Jinora elbowed Akira and gave him a side glance telling him with her eyes to ask their father about the journey they would soon take.

"Father, I was wondering if I could come along in your journey to the Southern Water Tribe" He said already expecting his question to be turned down.

"Hmm. Yes, though I thought you were already prepared to leave and had your stuff ready." Tenzin said in a confused tone.

"Ahh. I didn't think I would be going so I thought I should come and ask you first." Akira replied, his usual soft voice taking a tone of embarrassment.

"Well, I must prepare my belongings for our journey so please excuse me" Akira said, quickly finishing his meal and rushing back into his room.

"That boy is always so smart and polite. It is no surprise that he became a master of both his elements in just under 5 years." Pema said, her voice laced with astonishment.

"Yes, well we must hurry and finish our meal so we can leave early and to the Southern Water Tribe as early as possible." Replied Tenzin with a voice of pride and hastiness as he wanted to get their as quick as possible.

Timeskip

"Are you sure you kids brought everything you need for this trip, because there will be no pauses in our trip to the south pole." Tenzin said as he and his family were on the saddle of his sky bison Oogi as he saw Akira and Jinora reading books while Ikki and Meelo were playing with some toys they brought.

"Yes dear. We are all ready so let's be on our way already." Pema replied in a tone that left no room for arguments.

"Very well. Oogi, Yip Yip." And just like that the family were on there way to the Southern Water Tribe.

Timeskip

"Are we there yet? Are we their yet?" Came the voice of the over excited Ikki as she was yelling for about a while now.

"Yes Ikki. For the last 15 times, yes we are finally here." Said Tenzin in a tired and exhausted voice.

As they were landing, Akira saw two women. One was in her late 60s which was Katara and the other who looked like she just entered 18 which was the new Avatar, Korra. Just as he was about to come down, he was knocked away by his sister as they were riding an air scooter down Oogi's tail and skated on the snowy floor while his little brother was gnawing on his father's bald head which he found slightly amusing.

"You don't know how happy I am to see you mother. Please help me." Tenzin asked with a pleading tone in his voice which Katara happily helped by taking Meelo of his head.

"Unhand me strange women" The little boy cried out, not to familiar with old women who he thought was grabbing him hostage.

"Meelo, that is your Grandmother." Tenzin said, but was ignored when Meelo just airbent himself away from her and behind his dad.

"Ughh" Cried out Pema in a soft grunt of annoyance and she made her way down Oogi's tail with her hand on her stomach.

"Here Pema. Let me Help you."Tenzin said while Akira was just standing in the back just watching all of this play out in front of him.

Just as he was about to make himself scarce, he found himself face to face with the Avatar as she was watching him closely.

"Hi. My name is Korra." The young female Avatar said.

"Hello. I'm Akira. It's a pleasure to meet you" Akira replied in his usual soft voice which kind of surprised the young Avatar.

As the two of them started chatting with each other, they never saw or heard the serious conversation happening right in front of them.
