S2 Episode 5: The Cattle Conspiracy

Our episode opens up in the American countryside with a herd of cattle grazing against a night sky only for one cow to be caught in the tractor beam of a spaceship spooking the rest of the herd. the cow is then sucked into the spaceship while a confused farmer watches as the hollowed-out carcass is jettisoned from the ship and dropped in front of him. as the ship takes off, we see a platoon of Sector 51 agents led by Commander Epsilon arrive on the scene to confiscate the carcass while Agent Delta memory-wipes the farmer. We then cut to the next day at Sector 51 HQ where the LGMs are hard at work examining the mutilated cow carcass, Epsilon asking Delta what the heck those aliens wanted with Earth livestock, and Delta tells him "it's strange, according to the LGMs findings all soft tissue organs of the animal have been removed: eyes, lungs, pancreas, tongue, and completely drained of blood. It's weird" Epsilon crosses his arms and tells Delta "We should consult Alpha on this issue, whatever these ETs want it can't be good" the two enter the communication chamber where Delta informs Alpha of the cattle mutilation case, revealing that this is the third mutilation case Sector 51 has come across this week. Alpha recognizes this as the work of the Kadavorans, explaining that the Kadavorans are a race of alien scavengers who feed on carrion like the vultures and jackals of Earth, explaining that they've recently acquired a taste for the flesh of Earth's livestock but nobody knows why. Delta then says "Allow me to investigate, I may be able to get to the bottom of this" as he tightens his gloves. Right on cue we then cut to Lena, Alex, and Tyrone eating burgers at burger shack with Tyrone and Maria, Tyrone exclaiming "aw come on, where's the toy that comes with the meal?" Maria then tells her son "you got a pile of toys at home you got from all the other times we ate at burger shack you don't play with anymore, you don't need another one honey" Tyrone then pouts while Darnell says "just be thankful we're all here together in this family outing. even you too Alex, you're honorary family" all the while Alex looks at Lena and asks her "you haven't even touched your fries, mind if I have some?" Lena then says "sure, go right ahead" followed by Alex stealing some of Lena's fries. we then see Agent Delta enter the burger shack with Lena saying "what now Delta? don't tell me you're here to ask me to go alien hunting with you again" Delta then says "I'm here to ask you to help me investigate cattle mutilations" Darnell then comically spits out his drink and asks "what did he just say?" Maria patting her husband on the back telling him "none of our business, honey" along with Tyrone saying "that sounds nasty" Alex then says "Cattle mutilations? Cool, I used to write about those back when I had my UFO conspiracy blog. I always wanted to get up close to one so count me in" we then cut to Sentator Pierce showing a slideshow of Cattle Mutilations to his followers at the Friends of Earth, Pierce exclaiming "ETs have been going around killing our livestock destroying people's livelihoods, are we just gonna sit here and let them do it?" his followers then exclaim "NO!" Pierce then asks "That's why we're gonna get out there and take out these cattle-killers once and for all. because all ETs are a threat to our Earthly way of life, and together we can keep Earth human!" followed by the Friends of Earth putting on their hoods as Senator Pierce puts on his, we then cut to the Sector 51 van arriving at the fence of a nearby Cattle ranch in the Nevada countryside, Delta watching the herd of cattle with a pair of binoculars. Lena and Alex watch in the backseat with Lena growing impatient, saying "ugh, why are we just sitting here staring at a bunch of cows! you never told me this mission would be boring" Alex tells Lena "I think this is meant to be a stakeout mission" Delta then tells Alex "precisely, our mission is to keep all eyes out for any alien activity. and you two are gonna be the bait" Lena and Alex's eyes both widen, exclaiming "WHAT!?" Lena and Alex exit the vehicle as Delta then presses a button that deploys a robotic cow from the back of the Sector 51 van with Lena and Alex looking at it in confusion, Alex asking "Is that a robot cow?" Delta then talks through the speaker in the robot's mouth saying "The LGMs built this thing to blend into the herd so that we can spy on our enemies without being detected. they call it the Covert Observation Walker, otherwise known as the C.O.W. for short" Lena then says "that literally spells Cow" Delta then says "just get inside" as the C.O.W.'s butt opens up allowing for Lena and Alex to crawl inside. we then cut to the C.O.W. walking through a herd of cattle, Lena complaining to Alex saying "ew why do I have to be the one stuck operating the butt?" Alex then says "because you won't stop complaining. besides, I prefer the front view. now help me steer this... steer" Lena pouting behind Alex. Delta then tells the two teens over intercom "you two quit bickering before you give yourselves away, got it?" the two saying "got it!" as the bump into a real cow who looks at the robot with curiosity. Alex then says "uh... moo?" over the speaker to avoid suspicion. meanwhile Delta is busy watching the herd from the van until he spots with his binoculars a bunch of armored vehicles with the Friends of Earth logo painted on them arrive on the scene, Delta saying "Great, just what we needed. the Friends of Earth interfering in alien affairs" Delta contacts Lena and Alex over intercom informing the two teens that the Friends of Earth are here. Lena then says "Glark, not the freaks in the hoods!" prompting Alex to move the C.O.W. to the back of the herd to avoid drawing any attention. Pierce approaches the rancher to shake his hand, telling him "Don't worry sir, the ETs who've been killing your cattle won't bother you anymore when we're around. us Friends of Earth vow to rid our planet of the alien menace. and forget to vote Pierce for President!" Lena overhears this and asks Alex "Did you hear all that?" Alex replies with "Yeah, It seems that Pierce is using the cattle mutilations as a means of furthering his own political campaign" meanwhile the C.O.W. bumps into a mutilated cow carcass, Alex turns the robot's head to face the carcass and stare at it saying "fascinating, a real-life cattle mutilation!" Lena telling Alex "that's totally gross" however Alex ignores her and says "I've never gotten up-close to one in real life!" only for the Kadavoran ship to land in the field followed by the Kadavorans stepping out of the craft to inspect the cattle herd, saliva dripping from the zombie-esque alien's bony jaws. one Kadavoran tells his superior officer in their native tongue (speaking with subtitles) "M'Cabra, the monthly harvest is almost complete. we nearly have enough stock to fill us up for the rest of the year. then we can leave this rock and return to Karron" Lena then says "those guys look totally gross" Delta then tells the two teens "those are Kadavorans, they're the ones responsible for the cattle mutilations" Alex then says "Kadavorans? that kinda sounds like Cadaver. man these aliens have such on-the-nose names" only for the Friends of Earth to aim their guns at the Kadavorans, Pierce saying "Sorry ETs but I'm gonna ask you to leave, these animals are property of planet Earth and you have no right stealing from us. so get off our planet or die" the Kadavorans roar and pull out bony-looking weapons, charging at the Friends of Earth leading to an all-out battle of human vs. alien with Pierce locking swords with the Kadavoran leader M'Cabra who shouts "fire up the ship!" as the Kadavorans retreat into their ship which takes off and fires a barrage of blasts at the Friends of Earth who along with Pierce retreat as M'Cabra lets out an evil laugh before walking towards the cattle herd, taking a special interest in the robotic cow at the back of the herd. Lena then says "I think they spotted us, we need to run!" Alex replies with "And drop our cover? I don't think so" we then see M'Cabra deliver the order "take them all" prompting the Kadavoran ship to suck up all the cattle with its tractor beam, including the C.O.W. with Lena and Alex inside, Delta running outside the van screaming "Lena! Alex!" only for Delta to get surrounded by the Friends of Earth who point their guns at him, Senator Pierce removing his hood telling him "Agent Delta, long time no see" Delta is shocked to see that Pierce is the leader of the Friends of Earth, Pierce telling Delta "It's best you alien sympathizers at Sector 51 stay out of our way, unlike you we're doing real work in protecting humanity from aliens" Delta then tells Pierce "Don't talk like you're a saint after all the innocent aliens you've murdered" angering Pierce who orders his men to shoot down Agent Delta who dodges enemy fire and delivers swift kicks to each of the attacking FOE goons before we cut to Lena and Alex inside the C.O.W. amongst a herd of cattle imprisoned aboard the Kadavoran ship, M'Cabra complimenting his men on a well-done harvest as Alex pivots the head to look around seeing several tubes filled with blood and cattle organs, Alex saying "Hey Lena, it seems the reason why the Kadavorans have been mutilating cattle is to harvest their organs" Lena then asks "for what, exactly?" Alex then says "I don't know" just as the Kadavorans take one of the canisters full of cow innards and dump it into a grinder-like machine turning the contents into a pile of gelatinous red meat cubes. the Kadavorans then all start to dig in, Alex saying "Unbelievable, the aliens are using the organs of the abducted cattle... to make food!" Lena then says "Doesn't sound any different from what humans do, that's right I know where hamburgers come from" Alex then says "Yeah but this is way grosser. and you'd think they'd want fries with that" the Kadavorans then grab the C.O.W. and haul it onto the surgical table, opening it with a laser cutter, and shocked to find that the C.O.W. is a robot with Alex freaking out shouting "Don't eat me!" while Lena protects him, leaping out of the robotic bovine to punch a Kadavoran in the face with one of her fist constructs. other Kadavorans point their guns at Lena only for her to activate her energy shurikens to slice the barrels of their guns only for her to get tazed by M'Cabra who says "You let these children snuck on board our ship? and you call yourselves Kadavorans" chastising his men. Alex gets out of the C.O.W. and helps Lena back on her feet before we cut back to Delta's fight with the friends of Earth leaving all of Pierce's men knocked out, Delta drawing his twin laser pistols and Pierce drawing his sword, Pierce deflects Delta's blasts with his sword exclaiming "You seriously call mutilating our livestock innocent? sounds like a crime to me" followed by the two locking weapons. Delta says "I never said the Kadavorans were innocent, they're guilty of crimes just like every other alien criminal we apprehend. but not all aliens are criminals" shooting the sword out of Pierce's hand before finishing his sentence with "you're just too blinded by revenge to notice" and roundhouse kicking him upside the head knocking him out cold. we then cut back to the Kadavoran ship where we see Lena and Alex running from the Kadavorans, backed up against a wall which turns out to be the holding pen where all the cows are trapped inside. Lena then activates her twin sword constructs, exclaiming "why are you doing this? what exactly do you want with the cattle?" M'Cabra speaks, explaining that their homeworld of Karron was completely depleted of food sources after they ate all of the carrion on the planet so they traveled planet to planet abducting large animals from other worlds so they can harvest their innards for food, Earth being their latest stop in their quest for an alternative food source. Lena then says "well you can't have these ones" pressing the button that lets all of the cows out causing them to stampede all over the ship trampling over several Kadavorans and causing the ship to hurdle down to Earth, crashing in the field letting all the cows out with Lena and Alex riding on the back of one cow exclaiming "woo get 'em Bessie!" Alex holding onto her for dear life asking Lena "you named it? well that's just great" Delta happy to see Lena and Alex back in one piece. we then see an injured M'Cabra crawl out of the wreckage of the ship only for Pierce to show up and put the Kadavoran in a headlock and hold his sword up to the alien's neck, Pierce saying "your days of mutilating livestock are over, ya filthy ET! prepare to face the consequences of your crimes" Lena then says "STOP!" activating her energy shurikens that she throws pinning Pierce to the side of the crashed spaceship, all the while M'Cabra helps pull his fellow Kadavorans out of the wreckage of their spaceship followed by Alex and Agent Delta rushing in to lend a hand to the aliens in need. Pierce then asks "Why do you protect these dangerous extraterrestrials? they could condemn us to starvation if allowed to plunder our livestock!" Lena then tells him "That doesn't make you in the right. the Kadavorans had no food on their home planet and resorted to abducting livestock in order to survive. Even if what they did was wrong, we have no right to persecute aliens who were just trying to feed their families" Lena's words end up moving the Kadavorans, however Delta reminds them that they're still gonna have to answer to the Council of planets for their crimes. M'Cabra then says "I will gladly take whatever punishment you have in store for us" Lena then says "Wait! I packed you a snack for the road before you go" and gives M'Cabra a bag of some of her leftovers from burger shack. we then cut to the next day where we see Lena walking Poochie through alien town where she notices from the window of Joe's Diner she sees a bunch of Kadavorans eating at Joe's much to her surprise, Lena entering the building asking Joe what's going on. Joe then explains to Lena that they came here to sample the local cuisine, so he gave them the best his place had to offer. Lena then smiles ending our episode on a good note.
