🦄Ch.2 glimpse of red🦄

'Something's here' I hear Squishy's voice in my head. 'I know, I can smell it too' I keep my scent at bay, trying not to alert or scare Minho in any way.

It smells sorta spicy

While in thought I failed to see the root sticking out of the ground. "Ow!" I yelp as I smack the ground. Fuck that hurt I should have watched where I was going.

"Oh, my word! Lixie are you ok? Are you hurt?" Minho rushes over to me. He helps me up and we both just stare at each other in silence. Then
Minho bursts out laughing causing me to follow along.

We both lay on the grass wheezing till our stomachs hurt. Once we calm down Minho turns over and looks at me.

"Why did you fall?" Minho asks, Scooting closer so we can stand up and link arms.

"It's weird, when I was walking I smelt something strange, like it wasn't from around here. I looked around and I caught a glimpse of red running away toward the thorn forest." I whisper, keeping quiet in case whatever it is is still lurking around.

"We should head back, in case whatever it was is dangerous we should be somewhere safe where it can't get us," Minho says, urgently shoving me toward the blue path back home.

As we're walking home I can still smell that weird scent. I could feel my mark burn as I glanced around, hoping to spot the red glimpse again. I see nothing but I can feel something staring at me. Minho doesn't seem to notice so I keep quiet.

As we're just about to enter the safety of our home I feel something hit the back of my head.
"Ouch," I jerk around seeing nothing. Minho taps me, I quickly look at him.

"Look, it's a scroll," Minho says, pointing toward the ground, that must have been what hit me. I bend down and pick it up. I unroll it only to read.

'You almost caught me, Look up next time, my beautiful freckled fairy'

As soon as I got home I immediately started searching my books for something on the scent I smelt. Cinnamon, I knew it wasn't a fairy or anyone from Levanter.

Vampire?

There's no way, vampires cannot get this close to Levanter. Eons ago they were banned from Levanter, being sentenced to Oddinaire. It's a dark forest full of wolves, vampires, witches, and other monsters alike. It shouldn't have been able to get here unless the magic is wearing off.

I have to tell Minho about this.

"There's no way," Minho says, pacing back and forth in his hut. I just explained everything that happened to him and it seems he's in more disbelief than I am. And I'm the one who got the pervy note.

"What am I gonna do about the note? It's scary enough having a vampire this close to Levanter let alone sending me a note." I spoke, fearing for what was to come.

What if he's hot? Squishy all of a sudden spoke.

The heck? Squishy he's a vampire. He's the worst kind of monster there is. It doesn't matter if he's hot. He'll kill us.

'Geez, just a thought' I mentally roll my eyes at Squishy's words.

Well, what are we gonna do about this?" I ask, growing anxious as Minho just stares at me.

"We're gonna go to the god fairies"
