Everyone was gathered around the Painted Table again as they forged a plan.

"It's no easy thing for a man to be a dragonslayer. But dragons can kill dragons. And have. The simple truth is this, we have more dragons than Aegon." Daemon stated calmly as Queen Maegora stood beside Princess Rhaella, Princes Jacaerys and Lucerys. The Queen's hand was on her large belly.

"Viserys spoke often of the Valyrian histories. I know them well. When dragons flew to war... everything burned. I do not wish to rule over a kingdom of ash and bone, and to the courtesy of Queen Maegora, King's Landing is already half ash." Queen Rhaenyra hummed, giving her niece a look who only shrugged.

"Are you considering the Hightower's terms, Your Grace?" Lord Bartimos asked and Maegora pursed her lips. Jacaerys put his hand on hers and gave it a slight squeeze.

"As Queen, what is my true duty to the realm, Lord Bartimos? Ensuring peace and unity? Or that I sit the Iron Throne no matter the cost?" Rhaenyra spoke to him, and Maegora understood her reasoning, but she would not allow Aegon to sit on the throne, she would rather die.

"That's your father talking." Daemon commented, and the Queen of Devuniean slightly agreed with him.

"My father's dead. And he chose me as his successor... to defend the realm and not cast it headlong into war." Rhaenyra said, watching as Daemon walked towards the other side of the room.
