Chapter 1

3rd Person POV
Hunter woke up sharply at 6:00 with a call from his Abusive uncle Philip waking him up, His red cardinal Flapjack was chirping loudly probably because of the call So Hunter got out of bed and gave him bird feed before quickly scratching him

Apparently Uncle Philip was arrested and wanted hunter to bail him out so Hunter put on his contacts and prosthetic finger and drove to the station where Philip was being held and visited him.

Hunters POV
Philip said "Oh finally Hunter, You've arrived, now since my bail is 150,000 and nobody else I know will pay, Can you bail me out?
I stared at him coldly before saying "I would rather pay 150,00 for them to keep you arrested" before pulling up to the officer asking him what my uncle is in for, the officer says "Arson, Attempted 1st Degree murder, Tax Evasion, Child abused and Sexual Assault of a minor"
I then stared at him before saying "thank god he got caught"
I then pulled out my flask and took a swig before leaving and driving back home.
I was driving in my beat up 20 year old Pick-up truck for about 12 minutes before I got home. I then got home and put myself back in bed, and fell asleep
I think I woke up 15 minutes later to 3 missed calls, all from Eda, I then preceded to check the time and it was 8:00am "Shit I'm late" I thought to myself as I got my uniform on and drove to the Police station in my car which took around 30 minutes with the terrible rush hour traffic of Gravesfield

I arrived at the station with everyone waiting for me I thought to myself "There is Sargent Blight, Captain Clawthorne, The tech expert Gus and the Lab Chief who I have only interacted with once or twice before"


I then told myself to snap out of it as a new person I didn't recognize introduced themselves as being Luz Noceda the new detective with their optimistic, idealist and energetic nature putting me off. I eventually took out my flask and took another swig with Luz greeting everyone individually before getting to me

She said "Hello, I am detective Luz Noceda, and you are?"

I responded "Detective Hunter Clawthorne, now get out of my face" I said aggressively

Captain Eda came closer and said "Hunter, do not be rude to your new partner"

I preceded to get angry and said "Partner? I thought I had to agree first" Eda then said "Nope, now listen, She is your partner and you have to accept this"

I then sighed and said "This is why I drink" Before taking a swig of my flask filled with whiskey

Luz then said in a - Concerned? manner "I know just met you Hunter but what is in that flask?"

I responded "Whiskey to cope with my shit life and abundance of trauma"

Luz responded "Nice joke... right?"

I gave the response of "Not really"

Luz gave me a- I want to say disappointed, confused and sad? face, before captain eda said "Alright since we have no cases as of now since we dealt with all of them the previous week I am hosting get to know you games for everyone and Luz" 

I then preceded to head to the bathroom and drink away my entire flask of whiskey with the trauma of my childhood playing over like a reel in my head mostly my uncle hitting me
The memory of him throwing a knife at me and hitting my ear was so vivid, I could remember what I smelt during the event and what my uncle looked like in full detail
I went to the bathroom mirror to clean my hands which were covered in tears and alcohol, and then I saw my face in the mirror
All those scars from my uncle, the one where he threw boiling at my face, when he broke off my ring finger in a fit of rage and my whole left hand was scarred thanks to him forcing my left hand into a pot of boiling water
