I looked at the message again and started typing my message.

I'm the one to be thankful for tonight! Don't worry, with Patty's driving style it is impossible to sleep. :-D How do you feel? Are you heading to bed?

And I clicked on that one button and sent the message. I felt nervous about my message and read it again and again. However, I didn't have enough time to think any further because I received another message from him almost immediately.

L: Hope you manage to get home in one piece. :-D I feel good, Im full of things I need to process. ;-)

What things? If you want to talk about it...

L: I met one person... and I feel like she was the missing piece to my fucked up life :)

I read the message to Patty and she almost crashed the car.

"Are you kidding me? He called you his missing piece?" she screamed and did something what looked like a happy dance while holding the steering wheel.

She's a lucky girl I guess...

L: I don't know, you tell me ;-)

How would I know?

L: Cause you're the missing piece I was talking about?

I felt my cheeks burning and I thanked god that it was dark in the car, either way, Patty would see my face flashing with all the shades of red.

"He said I'm his missing piece he was talking about..." I said and looked at Patty who opened her eyes wide in shock.

"What?" I asked her. I got confused.

"Who do you think he was talking about?! It was clear he referred to you! Pauline! Please! Use your brain sometimes," she almost shouted at me sarcastically.

I laughed a little and tried to calm her down.

"You should text him back. Obviously, he's the same piece of damaged nerves and now he's definitely doubting himself," Patty said and she was right. I would die if I would send such a message and wouldn't get a reply within seconds.

In this case, I can tell you that it feels amazing to be your missing piece...

"I think I fucked up," I said, regretting my message. I read my message to Patty and she laughed.

"That's the most sincere and full of emotions message I have ever seen from you, Paulie! And I'm honestly proud of you. This must have cost you all your soul," Patty said and shuffled in her seat a little. I fell silent and waited for Lewis to text me back... but nothing came.
