Chapter 1

CHANHU'S POV

I wake up today like any other day, but there is an underlying unease. "Oh, right, Eunsae has returned to her own world," I mumble, a trace of melancholy clouding my thoughts. "Wait, why am I feeling this way?" I ponder as I climb out of bed, a faint sense of sorrow still lingering. While getting ready for school, I can't help but think about stopping by Eunsae's house, hoping that she might still be there.

I hastily don my clothes and hurry to Eunsae's house. I ring the doorbell, and to my surprise, Eun-i answers. Disappointment washes over me. "What did I expect?" I sigh inwardly, noticing Eun-i's annoyance at my early morning intrusion. "What?" she snaps, clearly irritated.

"Nothing," I reply, turning away with a heavy heart. "Well, this is how things were meant to be. There's no use in being disappointed," I reassure myself.

As I enter school, I spot Sewan already in his seat. He waves at me, and I nod in acknowledgment before taking my place. When Eun-i appears, I can't help but notice the displeased expression on Sewan's face. He feels the same as I do – a mix of disgust and resentment towards Eun-i.

Distracted by my thoughts of Eunsae and our time together, I can't concentrate on the lessons. "What's come over me? This isn't like me," I whisper to myself. Sewan, sensing my change, approaches me and asks if everything is alright. He suggests, "Hey, if Eun-i could switch with Eunsae, maybe we could too."

I halt him, responding, "Are you out of your mind? That's a ridiculous idea," and I walk away. I know that if I stay there for another moment, I might consider Sewan's proposal.

"It's fine; I only knew her for a few months. It's not like I have feelings for her or anything," I stammer, my face suddenly burning with embarrassment. "What's wrong with me?" I mutter. I try to hide my face in my hands, hoping nobody notices that I've turned as red as a tomato.
