sam walked over to max, watching where she was staring. nancy pulling a gun out of a dead guard. her heart sinking. "you're gonna kill him, aren't you?" max asked. sam walking over to her sister's side. "this is just a precaution, okay?" nancy reassured.

"and not just against billy. if he knows we're here, so does the mind flayer." will added, sam nodding in agreement.

"no chance that thing will drive huh?" nancy teased, gesturing to the car el threw. "we don't need it to drive." jonathan replied, an idea hitting him instantly. "we just need the ignition cable." jonathan said.

everyone began to shove the car. pushing over and over agin with all there strength. to no avail, nothing happened. the car stayed put. "shit." lucas exclaimed. "let me try." el said. mike panting, "el..."

she didn't listen, hobbling herself closer to the car. "i can do it." she reminded him, everyone moving from behind the car to behind el. nothing happened. "el, you're drained. you need to take a break." sam said. el and will walking back over to where they previously were.

"anyone have any ideas? what could be do?" nancy asked. "physics." mike mumbled. "what?" max asked. "physics!" he called, gathering metal poles.

"push!" jonathan strained, everyone prying the car off of the counters. it finally laying straight on its side. "alright, now, all the way. ready?" jonathan announced. "three...two...one, push!" he strained out again, the car falling flat. everyone panting from all the strength used to flip the car.

"told you. physics." mike breathed out. everyone hopping down from the counters. max and sam immediately looking over to eleven who was digging in a garbage bin. "what's she doing?" max asked.

mike turning around to face his girlfriend. all three walking over to the girl who had squashed a coke can. "el. are you okay?" mike asked, eleven turning to see all three of them.

a distant rumbling sound changing sam's focus from el to above where the sun roof of the mall was. max following the same line of sight. both of their brows furrowed.

their eyes widening as they could hear pounding footsteps above them. sam could relatively see a large shadowy figure above them. "mike." max mumbled. mike's eyes meeting what the sister's were seeing. the glass above them cracking. "nancy!" he yelled.

everyone looking above to hear the creature snarling. "come on!" sam said yanking max with her, who grabbed ahold of mike, who then grabbed el. the four of them hiding behind a food stand just in time. the glass above shattering, the monster falling through. everyone was then, out of sight from the creature.

sam listening close, dustin's voice ringing into the walkie that mike had laid on a bench. the monster roaring, and the sound of the item smashing across the floor made sam jump. as she looked over to the three kids next to her, fear written all over their faces.

the thumping of the monster moving made sam's heartbeat jump. she didn't want the mind flayer to find them, any of them. she didn't want anyone to die. especially when that's the one thing the mind flayer wanted.

the thumping came nearer, sam holding onto all three kids as they all began to pant in fear. their spot was probably the worst place to hide. it was very open and if the mind flayer really had a brain it could've found them instantly. the snarling and growling instantly made sam hold onto the kids tighter. the neon lights flickering all around them, sam letting out a breath as the mind flayer thumped away from them.
