It's been nearly a year since you met the group, and they practically adopted you. When you tried to make other friends, they would make more plans to spend time with you, or at least Billy and Stu would.
In the months since you met them you also met Steve, Steve Orth. He was kind... at first, he asked you out on a date a week after he saw you with the group, or as Stu called it, "the gang".
You was a bit hesitant at first, but you decided to give it a go. It wasn't long before he showed his true side, the shouting, the cheating, then begging for forgiveness and you giving in eventually, you weren't sure why, but you always did.
No one in your friend group liked him, Tatum knew what he was like as you told her, which eventually led to Sidney knowing and Stu then to Billy and Randy. They were disgusted by his behaviour. Each time you and Steve had a fight, your friends begged you to leave him, but you refused. You knew he was a good guy deep down and he really did love you. He just had a funny way of showing it. It was a month away from your one-year anniversary with 'the gang' and currently you and Steve were in a rough patch.
Steve picked you up in his car every day to drive you to school but today he called to say he couldn't as his car had broken down. "Sorry babe. My dad said he'll take it to the shop later. Do you think you'll be fine walking?" His voice crackled through the receiver. You sighed and brought your hand to your face. "Yeah, I guess it's fine. See you at school." You said trying to make the situation lighter.
